Signing(s): Derek Stingley Jr signs extension with the Texans (3 years, $90 million)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

He's like one of the first from the 2022 draft to sign. That's the Walker, Hutchinson, Sauce, draft.

Signing early allows Houston to prorate his SB over the final year plus 5th year of his rookie deal. But, wow, all but $1 mill is guaranteed?

He deserves every bit of it. He's the cornerstone of a young, elite secondary, and if he isn't already, he should be getting a lot of talk as the best DB in the league. He's right up there with Surtain.

Just surprised at the guarantees being virtually 100%. Typically, something like a $90 mill contract, you'd see like $65 mill or so of it guaranteed only.

Seeing which positions are the high value contract ones. Pass rusher, be it Edge of Inside, Lockdown CB get paid on D.

Wonder if this impacts Travis Hunter on which side of the ball he's looking to play. Not going to match Chase contract, but I don't think Hunter projects to be as good as Chase as a WR, but even looking at Higgins, the Stingley contract is right there with it.

I wonder how much Sauce Gardner is gonna get paid, if the Jets are willing to pay up.
He really struggled last season as teams seem to have figured him out.
