I don't know how this Forbort discussion turned into burger talk... this thread really needs a title change.

And The Habit deserves more love as an awesome Cali based burger joint.

I bet Phil Kessel would be honored to have a burger named after him.

Snax double chili cheese burger in El Segundo used to be the very best chili burger made. It has been awhile since I have one Forbort should get a few minutes maybe what we gave McBain this past game (5 or so mins) next game. Food talk.

It's way out in Riverside, but a place called the salted pig has a few burgers that were fantastic. A mini religious experience the first time I went.

Tommy's is pretty damn good. In-N-Out is still my favorite though.

In-N-Out > The Habit > Astro Burger > Smashburger > Five Guys > Tommy's > The Counter

No The Hat? Come on man.

Dude don't forget about Hook Burger, whoops 5 Guys, In N' Out, and The Counter easily...

Speaking of burgers, Sladers 50/50 in Pasadena might be one of the best burgers I've ever had. 50% beef, 50% bacon

How have I not been here? D'oh!

You are all wrong:

Stout.

The morning after burger is money.

- In-N-Out is barely a real burger and the fries suck ass if you don't eat them in the first 30 seconds.
- Five Guys at least tastes like a burger.
- Slater's is overcooked and overrated.
- Tommy's is good but as some of you said, gut bomb.
- The Counter is decent, so is The Habit.
- There is absolutely NO reason to order anything at the Hat other than a Pastrami with cheddar cheese.
- Rounds is mediocre at best.
- Umami is good if you like truffle everything, though a bit douchy.

And I hope Forbert gets into the nxt game, would like to see him play!

there's a bandit on another forum i frequent that's just as wrong as you so at least you have that going for you.

stout burger  "alright, let me see how much crap we can put on the burger to make you think a burger isn't about the burger" nailed it.

in n out - barely a burger? i have an excellent therapist. i'm guessing it dates back to the time where you were denied your job application because THAT was the place to work and eat.

five guys - what can i say? have some peanuts

i have no issue with most of the other stuff but you do realize umami basic burger(the one that put them on the proverbial map) is bread - cheese - patty - toppings(tomato, onion, shrooms)?

the 'gourmet' burger restaurants LOVE your type.

Slater's does a lot of unique things though. Try the Peanut Butter and Jealousy.

Then spend a night indoors.

I had the California burger with rhe the Carne Asada and spicy salsa on it with the Buffalo Mac N Cheese. Safe to say I had quite a rough night after that. Totally worth it though!

I still have yet to try the Habit or 5 Guys though.:(

The Habit is awesome. Their fries are awesome.

Five Guys is pretty good, but not as good as most make it out to be.

Still would highly recommend both though.

I actually wanna say that the Valencia Mall has both and is like 5 minutes away from COC. I'll have to check them out after class one day.

The only one I've been to in LA is on Wilshire. If you go bring someone with you though (depending on how much you eat). They give you a ton of fries. I usually have about a 1/3 of a cup left over.

 another scv person ;)

Yes there is a 5 guys at the mall but the habit is over by the hospital in granary square (only like 5 mins away from coc too). There's also a habit up in th new golden valley center, if your on that side of town. :p:

Tommy's looks like something Jamie Lee Curtis makes after shooting an Activia spot.

True, but it's delicious!!! Hell, if Jaime Lee's stool tastes like Tommy's chili... we ought to "milk" her.

I just re-read that... clearly it's a cry for help (there isn't a Tommy's within 1500 miles of here).
