honest question:

Elite goalie coming off back to back injury seasons.

Contract still decent, signed next year for 5m.

Goalie market seems really light, what do you all think he can get in a trade?

I think it’s fair to say Demko’s trade value is at an all time low right now.

Teams giving up high quality assets to acquire Demko this summer would usually make that move with the intention of immediately signing him to a big extension. With Demko’s current injury history I’m skeptical a trade partner team is out there looking to sign him to the high $ long term deal Demko wants. Could easily see Demko “betting on himself” to play a season and go UFA if traded.

I think Vancouver could find a team willing to give up a 2nd + B or C level prospect for Demko if they want to trade him.

Who wants to pay a goalie $5M when you know he'll be injured for 40 games?

If he stays healthy for a full year in Vancouver, he'll be able to do well in free agency (or more likely, re-up in Vancouver for eight years). If they insist on moving him now, the return will be very low.

Unfortunately for Vancouver he has zero value at the moment. You could probably dump him for a mid round pick but nothing more

Something disappointing like a 5th or 6th if the club has need/ cap room.

Not sure Van would deal him in division but it's the type of risky play Vegas would make. No goalies under contract next year.

It's pretty damning that they signed Lanklnen to a 5 year deal with the first 2 years having a NMC.

That being said, if Demko successfully recovers and has a string of 20-30 games of elite play, he'll bring back a 1st+.
