Demko's had hip surgeries before right? Playing with bad hips really adds stress on your knees as a goalie. Could be wear and tear that's built up from playing with bad hips years ago

He's had the standard goalie hip procedure thats become common place among NHL goalies. Not a chronic issue.

DeSmith threw in the odd terrific game this year, but any time he had a run of games, he'd start to break down. Hope's he got his best ready to go, here.

That's why they should platoon DeSmith and Silovs until Demko is back. DeSmith is the quintessential backup in the sense that he's not nearly as good when he's "the guy".

Reminds me of when Price went down with an injury in game 1 or the ECF 10 years ago and the Habs went with Tokarski instead of Budaj. Sometimes you can really throw a team off when you throw in an unknown.

This is what you win a division for. Facing a wildcard team in this situation is a lot better than facing a 2 or 3 seed.
