No question. That’s why we should be in a celebratory mood if Demidov is only 75% of what Hutson is right off the hop. If at 19 he’s Hutson’s equal or even better, then this team’s future will be secure and we can cue that annoying singing in the Bell Centre now.Demidov is better than Hutson was at the same age.
You people are overthinking, as always.
To start his NHL career, Demigod will pay with Newhook and Laine at 5 on 5, and then lead the second wave PP and make all of them better.
And we will rejoice, and laugh, and drink beer and trash other teams in the main board and justice will be restored in this communist league that makes Utah and Vegas fans think they deserve to win just as much.
Mods, close this thread.
Not trying Demidov with Laine makes 0 sense imo.
It's important to remember that this line flopped in playoffs mostly because Danault could not follow Radulov. I think it was in the 2nd or 3rd game where radulov was starting to show clear sign of frustration about it.Laine-Evans-Demidov could bring us what the Pacioretty-Danault-Radulov bring us in 2017 in a certain way
Big difference is there where the only line that can contribute so the Rangers put all their effort to shutdown that line. It's important to remember that this line flopped in playoffs mostly becauee Danault could not follow Radulov. Skilled players can slow down the pace when needed. They would be the hockey version of the tortoise and the hare.
They were not able to shutdown Radulov though only the other two.Big difference is there where the only line that can contribute so the Rangers put all their effort to shutdown that line.
A LED line would be the 2/3 lines
No choice to put him a the 2nd line, even if Laine and Newhook suck
Newhook-Laine feels like the obvious answer.
They'd be idiots to break up the Caufield/Suzuki/Slafkovsky line, Anderson/Dvorak/Gallagher has been playing well for a while now and x/Evans/Armia is a classic 4th line focused on D.
The second line has been hot garbage and Demidov is destined for the top 6 anyways.
Do we really consider that Laine and Newhook are on the top 6 ?
Considering the lat stretch of games......the Dvorak's line is the top 6 with Suzuki's line....at least in terms of offensive production
They where still a good line for half of the seasonThey were not able to shutdown Radulov though only the other two.

My only concern with Newhook is that he can’t win FO and he’s not the best defensively so it might put more defensive responsibility on our rookie, who is going to be getting acclimated to the NHL.
Laine - Evans - Demidov is maybe the correct answer, and therefore we will see Laine - Newhook - Demidov or worse Kapanen - Evans - Demidov.Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine- Evan's- Demidov
Gallagher - Dvo - Anderson
Kapanen - Newhook - Armia/Heineman/Pez

Well, I voted for Evans as he can insulate him without destroying the 2 lines that is working.
Not sure we make him a favor by putting him with Laine and Newhook since those two don't produce like at all at 5-on-5
