Decent Players Who are Quietly Having Bad Seasons

For my team, Ryan Hartman. After three seasons where he scored 65, 37(missed over 20 games), and 45 pts, he now has 7 points in 27 gp. Much was made of him losing 15 lbs. coming into camp, but I never thought of him as an overweight, or slow player in the past. Sure enough, not only is he not producing (even though he is getting top 6 minutes), but he looks weaker out there than he has in the past.

All this after signing a new contract with a NMC. Figures.

Who is your player that is quietly stinking it up? No obvious, or injured ones, please.

Surprised that Coyle wasn't mentioned, but he is hardly alone on the B's. He is one of those players who is perpetually disappointing because he seems capable of being so much more, but this year.... ya...

Andre Burakovsky has 2 goals and 12 points despite being healthy. And while this pace is almost identical to last year's most people hoped for a bounce back.

I also thought that Jake Sanderson is having a pretty rough season. His point production is ok for a D but he is on a very good Ottawa powerplay and only has 1 goal. More importantly he is -13 while Thomas Chabot is +12 and has almost identical offensive output with way less PP time. In other words, he has been kind of a mess in his own zone and no more than average offensively.

Sanderson started out the year real strong, with 8p in 9g in October. When his partner, Zub, was injured, Coach Green paired Sanderson with the 7th Dman in Hamonic so as to not disrupt the other two pairings. That has since impacted his game, having to clean up the messes that come along with playing with an immobile shot blocker while still attempting to play first pairing minutes.

As for this thread, I’d offer Claude Giroux as an alternative to Sanderson. He has a gifted centre in Stutzle, and is on PP2 with spot duty on PP1, but is not really producing. Had a great October, but has since produced 6p in 14g in November, and 3p in 8g in December. Has lost a couple steps.

Domi has picked it up as of late.

Through his first 22 games he was on pace for 0 goals and 18 points total (had a statline of 22gp 0g 6a) through the 70+ games he was gonna play.
