This thread actually makes me wonder how many days different Art Ross winners held onto the lead and how many seasons another player actually held the lead for longer. That was a pretty long stretch from MacK.

Your exact words were "its not really close." Draisaitl has been the best player in the league, but hes not running away with it. He also happens to have the #4 player for points on his team. MacKinnons next closest team mate is 19th. If Draisaitl was running away with league MVP than he should be blowing away his opposition. Also, numerous hockey analysts would dispute that hes been better over Hughes.

What about Rantanen? The vast majority of the season, he's been on the same team as MacKinnon and is also top 10 in scoring IIRC.

Dunno why you’re brining on MacKinnon in here.. and whomever plays with whom, no one plays with a player of McDavids calibre
You brought in McD nobody else...and I showed you Drais stats without McD in the lineup.
And for reference I stated MacK without Rantanen.

I mean, yeah I brought up McDavid because how can one not do that. I did not mention MacKinnon though
Yes, this McD narrative just needs to die...Drai has done it now over a 7 season span and his production without McD in the lineup is better than with him in the lineup...when Drai is the go to guy he ramps it up and he is showing it this year on an all around level on both ends of the ice which you can see on his xGF% and +/- in which both he had lead the league and is constantly in the Top5.

Drai has carried McDavid (and the rest of the Oilers) this year and not the other way around. There are times when it's been the opposite. But right now, the clear cut MVP of the league is Draisaitl.

More points, first in goals, 10 less ENP, and better defense. I like Mack, but Drai has been better since the first month into the season after Mack cooled off.

There’s no way this isn’t arguing in bad faith jfc

Meh. Don’t get me wrong, I think Draisaitl is a world class-player… but I’ve also seen a lot of his goals over the years, and soooo many come after McDavid’s been dangling 3-4 people and setting Drai up for an empty net.

I’d love to see his production away from the best offensive player since Mario/Jagr
11 points in 6 games McDavid was injured/suspended this year. Similar level or production going back to ~2018 when McDavid is out of the line up.
