You're silly to think Bergevin and Therrien would even let him get anywhere close to being a FA.

Extension, 5x5.

A team will sign him at about $2.5-3M and will be appreciated for his work.

He'll be happy to leave this hell hole.

Not sure why we aren't negotiating an extension now if we are allowed to, anything under $3MM on a 5 year deal is a bargain :sarcasm:

Welcome to the KHL Mr Desharnais, maybe Vegas would take a flyer on him

Sam Gagner got 1 year at 650 K after a similar career up to the end of 2014-15, and then a down season in 2015-16

I think if he avoids a bad year and gets his usual 35-40 points, he gets 1 year 1.5 million. If not he gets the Gagner deal.

DD is not a bad player, still good for 0,5 ppg in his limited role at Montreal. Only turning 30 this year.

What he gets now is pretty close to what he should be currently getting, would be suprised to see if he cant get close to those numbers. Depending on the years of course and how this season goes through.

Have never understood the hate he receives. Montreal just isnt a fit for him. Located elsewhere he might do much better. Vegas sounds like a potential end-destination for next season.

If Bergevin re-signs this member of the lollipop guild, he needs to step down. Desharnais's time in Montreal should be over after this season but, knowing MB he'll probably give him a 1-2 year extension.

If Bergevin doesn't sign him to a deal, I think Benning will be all over this, he'll probably sign him to a 5X7.5 type of deal, IMHO I think it would be worth every penny. We need more small skilled centers.

Because his role is not even remotely ****ing limited. Top line minutes first wave PP.

Desharnais at 2,0M$ for 2 years??

Is it possible the Habs keep him?? I think there is a chance but doubt it will happens.

It may depends on organization plans for Plekanec.

As a habs fan, i certainly am against keeping both of them.

I personnaly would like to keep Plekanec to play on the third line but not at this cap hit.

Also, Shaw can be a very effective 3rd line center.

Habs would be pleased with an actual prospect developping in a 2nd line center but i doubt we got one. Maybe an outside chance with Hudon but i see him as a 3rd line center or 2nd/3rd line LW.

McCarron will be at best a 3rd line center IMHO.

Is it possible we see that center line in 2 years??

1-Chucky
2-Shaw
3-McCarron
4-Danault

or if Plekanec resigns :

1-Chucky
2-Plekanec
3-Shaw
4-McCarron
