for me it's the other way around.. her little bits of talking that they showed was soo bad.. could be the writing or what not.. iw as excitied at first from the casting, but when watching her "act" and talk.. i was like she appears to be the weakest link in this movie...

From what I saw I thought she captured the character pretty amazingly, but to each their own. But this is all from a 3 min trailer so who really knows at this point? It just got me excited.

i'm just hopig Leto can pull off a great Joker and make me forget his "costume" lol

Yeah I think Leto is gonna do great. The costume is terrible though. It's like they tried everything they possibly could to make him look "edgy" with the face tattoos, and the grill(did the Joker go to Paul Wall in this cinematic universe?).

Well, the Joker has had his teeth knocked out in the comics. He has recently gone as far as to have his face cut off his and hung in his Cell for Bruce before he escaped.

Yeah I've read Death of the Family too(great read for any Joker/Batman fans).

Still think the grill is awful along with his "damaged" forehead, and prison tear "J" tattoos. Although if they are doing an angle were Affleck's Batman previously knocked out Joker's teeth I likely won't be as pessimistic about his look.

DC is about to kick the **** out of the cute and flowery Marvel movies. Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman (depending on how well they do critically/boxoffice) will change super hero movies forever.
Yeah, Daredevil couldn't beat the broadside of a barn. :)

Marvel movies are not cute and flowery. They're uninspired, business model, cookie cutter retreads marketed for brainless mass consumption. Man of Steel, on the other hand, was just a terribly written and directed movie. And Batman/Superman looks exactly the same film in all respects. Snyder will ruin DC before it even gets started.

I completely agree with this.

I'm looking forward to Suicide Squad more than Batman vs. Superman. Batman vs. Superman trailer looked promising but I could also see it flopping so I'm keeping expectations low. Suicide Squad looks amazing.

I'm curious, what about the trailers leads you to believe that the film is terribly written? Because so far, the plot sounds incredible to me.

Most of the movies in the marvels franchise have either been pure superhero popcorn flicks, or outright terrible movies.

There are a couple though that are exceptional and are very well done movies (Iron Man, GoTG).

Personally I think the best movies that feature marvel superheroes are not been produced by Marvel. The X-men series (minus the 3rd one) are my favourite superhero movies to date from any company.

Not trying to turn into a Marvel thread but I just started watching Daredevil on Netflix and I'm hooked. Incredible show so far and it definitely isn't for kids/families.

I tried to enjoy it, but I couldn't get past the 4th or 5th episode. I like the titular character; I liked the actor, but the show simply failed to make me care for that adaptation of the character, even if it was only 4-5 episodes in.

But by far the most disappointing part of the show was Kingpin. My goodness. I had heard great things about the this depiction of the character, so naturally, I was expecting a well-written character and a very solid performance by the actor. But yikes, his scenes were painful to watch. I just couldn't get over the terrible acting and lines. The acting seemed to be on par with the acting in CW shows, and that may be an insult to CW. It was that bad, in my opinion.

Anyways, as you said, this thread is about the DCEU, but I just had to share my thoughts on Daredevil, I am thoroughly disappointed by the show; I find it very overrated.

If someone does not like a show, they usually don't finish it.

Just because it's Marvel, or it's something you like, you don't need to assume someone who doesn't like something is a "typical HFBoards poster".

I loved Daredevil, watched the whole season.

I hated agents of shield, stopped watching after the first few episodes, then watched through the whole thing because I was told I never gave it a chance. Still hated it.

Then there are shows like Sense8, I loved the first episode, didn't hate the next few episodes, but still never finished it because I didn't care one way or the other.

It's personal opinion, and many times when you don't like something, it's for a reason.

Perhaps you should add this to the original post:

“Suicide Squad,†directed by David Ayer (2016)
“Wonder Woman,†directed by Patty Jenkins; starring Gal Gadot (2017)
“Justice League Part One,†directed by Zack Snyder (2017)
“The Flash,†written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller; starring Ezra Miller (2018)
“Aquaman,†directed by James Wan; starring Jason Momoa (2018)
“Shazam†starring Dwayne Johnson (2019)
“Justice League Part Two,†directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
“Cyborg,†starring Ray Fisher (2020)
“Green Lantern Corps†(2020)

I thought kingpin was great, except when he had to speak Chinese

You could tell he was struggling badly with it because they invented some idiotic storyline where he was pretending not to be able to speak it for the whole season almost

I've been trying to think where DC could do a more light hearted movie, ala Guardians of the Galaxy. For a team film, Legion of Superheros would be perfect, but I'm not sure they would go into the future.

Green Lantern Corps could be a place to lighten things up a bit. Don't go stupid goofy, but you can have some fun with the space cops (and show why the Nova are just a crappy copy).

For a single hero, Flash is the obvious choice. Obvious melodrama with the Flash but overall he just be the most light hearted of the group and he has the most colorful rogues gallary.
