So, it's just dawned on me that even Marvin Gaye hated Edmonton...

Woah mercy, mercy me, yeah
Ah, things ain't what they used to be (Ain't what they used to be)
Oil wasted on the ocean and upon our seas

I broke down and watched American Psycho last week because of all the memes...I'd even been using some of them myself without having actually seen the movie, but knowing enough about it.

While watching the movie, I hated everyone in it. I wanted them all to die. It was so much worse than putting up with the self-absorbed assholes in either Hemingways' The Sun Also Rises or , Fitgerald's the Great Gatsby.

There's just something so disconnecting between the reality that I live and seeing rich people in movies that aren't happy even though they have access to everything their hearts desire. There is no way for me to connect to someone like that. It's just too foreign. And as a result, even though they were going for this great Fight Club thing where you don't know if it's real or not, ultimately it doesn't matter because I hated everything about the characters involved. There is no way to empathize or comiserate with people like this.
I still haven't seen American psycho. You're breakdown on it has me curious.

That's the part you miss. These people have everything yet they have nothing because they can never have real happiness. :) I feel sad for people in this movie who are this shallow. I know they will never be happy for themselves or anybody else.
