What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.
In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerAwesome guy and the guys clearly respect him, but he's done. I think even Marty has to overlook his veteran leadership and scratch him if Guhle is back.
Remember Jaroslav Spacek? Dude was huffing and puffing getting into place for face-offs. I find it strange hockey players don't work on their stamina -- I suppose there isn't much time during the season to do intense cardio work?He needs to go on a diet and do some cardio. He looks gassed in the warmup.
Nah man... you know that st louis loves his vets and in this case it will not be a hockey decision. YOu will hear thins like "can't replace leadership", "stanley cup winner", "playoffs experience". All of which are true, btw, and well deserved. Perhaps, just like Montanbo, Le Gros Dave just need a few games to rest and reset. Sometimes body just needs a week to charge up for another 8-12.Much respect to David Savard for having played over 800 NHL games, has his name on the Cup.
Every player eventually can't play anymore and Savard is just about there. I won't disrespect a player who gives it everything on every shift. Maybe it's time to bring up a Dman from Laval. I am not advocating either Mailloux or Reinbacher but instead I think Gustav Lindstrom should be rotating in as the 6th or 7th D.
I don’t see that as the reason why Savard get the nod - simply put he’s one of the key contributors to the much improved Habs PKSavard will be in the lineup the rest of this season. Much to fans chagrin, coaches need to tread carefully with their veteran leaders or risk division in the room. If we make it to the playoffs, the game changes more to suit his style of play...5 man units collapsing in the D-zone and blocking more shots, fewer penalties called (especially against veterans) and more cross-checks allowed.
Whether one agrees or disagrees, it will be a younger Dman (either Struble or Arber) getting scratched if/when Guhle returns this season.
Yup 7D on a 1yr deal w similar playing time as Pezzetta - he seems to be a “glue guy”Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's brought back next year as a depth defenseman.
I think the problem for MSL is that he doesn't want to risk giving Struble/Xhekaj more PK time right now because we can't really afford the mistakes that come from a player learning/developing. I do think Struble has the potential to be a very good PKer, and honestly even Hutson has promise, but people learn from making mistakes, so it's risky to do right now.I don’t see that as the reason why Savard get the nod - simply put he’s one of the key contributors to the much improved Habs PK
With continued growth trend, wouldn’t be far fetched if Struble displaces Savard at playoff time … should that situation arrive
f*** that. If your locker room is so weak you need to give this guy a contract just to lighten the mood, you need to rethink your core.Yup 7D on a 1yr deal w similar playing time as Pezzetta - he seems to be a “glue guy”
Brother this gets brought up almost every game. He's good for blocking shots and that's about itSavard is cooked. Why is nobody talking about it?
Problem is he's likely the 8th D not the 7th. We are quite possibly looking at something like this for next yearYup 7D on a 1yr deal w similar playing time as Pezzetta - he seems to be a “glue guy”
THrow back time - my fav memory of Spacek I remember this goal like it was yesterdayRemember Jaroslav Spacek? Dude was huffing and puffing getting into place for face-offs. Yeah I didn’t mean in here - I listen to a Habs podcast almost everyday and nobody ever talks about Savard.Brother this gets brought up almost every game. He's good for blocking shots and that's about it
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's brought back next year as a depth defenseman.
Traded him? Ghule was out for a while. Savard was fine replacementShould have traded him this TDL while there was still some interest in him...
He's done. His shotblocking is not enough; he's a liability these days.

Nothing more? Well that’s a flat out wrong statement. Let’s not be irrational or unreasonable here. Heaven forbid. What are you talking about???? There is nothing that hockey players work on more than their stamina.
My brief and casual comment had some implied words and caveats in it because it was a brief and casual statement.Sorry but this is a dead give away that you have never played at a reasonable level or know anybody that has. But feel free to make absolutely asinine assertions with the such bold conviction.
Sure thing Mensa, I’ll dumb down my future statements so you will be able to parse them.We are are all entitled and encouraged to share our opinions but let’s at least try and be honest about them and not entirely base them on confirmation bias and ignore any modicum of rationality.
