So the only thing I don't like is not trading down. If he's the pick and michkov is a ND then just trade to 7/8. But the prospect is solid and is a welcome addition.

Nothing but laughter at people saying we wasted TWO drafts (slaf will be good). The sky will never stop falling for people here

Why does our management, no matter who we have, seem to always think they're smarter than everyone else. I can't believe they did this. So all we get for 2 years on the bottom is slavkosky and reinbacher? And this being touted as a great draft, especially for forwards. So let's take a defenseman! Not a great one at that either. Morons! Hughes and gorton look smart and talk smart but it's just cosmetic. We should have known by what they did at new york. Great drafts there too. And we're stuck with this team for probably a decade. Sorry for the rant but I'm just so disappointed. And we don't have our late first and second for another Mesar. What is wrong with these people?

0 chance we’re bad enough for that. This was our last chance at a star and Hughes chickened out. Philly looks like they’ll have the bright future.
There will be no more stars, ever, lol

Horrendous pick. To me, he seems like the defenseman version of Kotkaniemi, and like KK, he was a bit of a reach where he was drafted.

My reasoning for disliking him (the pick) is that he doesn’t seem to have high end offensive upside, but he isn’t mean, physical, or all that good defensively either. He isn’t big for an NHL D. I see him as a 2nd pairing guy in his prime - that isn’t what you want with a 5th overall pick in a deep draft. Especially when there’s 1st line talent still on the board (Leonard, Benson, Michkov), and out prospect pool on D is pretty deep, just lacking an elite potential D. Reinbacher does nothing to change that, imo.

Should’ve went with a forward. Needless to say, I hope Reinbacher proves me wrong.

Reinbacher was getting draft by Arizona so we needed to pick him at 5

First things first, wtf Carey lol poor kid is about to have this highlight follow him his entire career.

Secondly, I warmed up a lot to Reinbacher a lot these last few weeks after watching some scouting videos about him. I think he'll surprise some, including myself but I don't think he'll become the number 1 or 2 defenseman some scouts expect him to be.

Thirdly, at 5!? Really!? I almost would've preferred Ryan Leonard at that point.
