Was sad to see him cut but it's for the best I guess.

It didn't make any sense to cut him on a hockey level, but I can see where they feel he's not ready emotionally to be in Montréal.

The good thing is he'll be able to join Laval or Montréal late in the season. And Hutson will be there too, to help get some of the attention away from him.

Of course ... yet they could be unwiiling to invest too much on a player that won't stay for long with the team and give his icetime/opportunites to another player more likely to play long term for their club.
Habs sent Reinbacher back there because they know he's going to get the development/TOI he needs.

Kloten coach this season is Gerry Fleming, he played for the Habs/AHL affiliate in the 90s. He had JF Houle (Rocket coach) as assistant for 3 years when he was coaching the Beaconsfield Condors in the AHL. He's very high on Reinbacher, talked about giving him more responsibilities this season in interviews this off-season.

He looks like a top 4 dman. Not a sexy pick but also not a project. I hope we land another stud dman this draft if we're not a top 3 pick.

Big thumbs up to HUGO for sending Reinbacher back to Switzerland. It was a good common sense move but as we know, sometimes good sense isn't common
AHL would had been a suitable solution too. Nemec and Jiricek have done very well last year at that level.

Thank God they finally did the right thing with a 1st rounder that looked good enough to start the season.
Young players can look good for 10-20 NHL games but as the season goes on their warts get bigger and bigger.

My hope is they also send Slaf down also (they dropped the ball on this last year), let him learn the N/A game and be the stud and go to player for the Rocket

My thing was not the NHL. But then again there would have been the temptation to bring him up and down and that hasn't worked out over the last few years. So I'm good with him being over there. Sounds like he has a good coach who is interested in helping him develop, and you know he has been told what to work on.

They will probably rush Mailloux instead...
I don't think so. They will have to live with Barron's deficiencies.

They won't. The kid is playing better and better at each game.

I'm so relieved he was sent back to Kloten.

Ideally they bring this guy in slowly
D+1: Kloten
D+2: Laval
D+3: Laval
D+4: NHL

EDIT:
Kloten, TY! Can you tell I was reading Plekanec's bio yesterday?

I'm surprised that people were so concerned about him starting the year in the NHL. It never really seemed particularly likely to me unless he went absolutely psycho mode in the preseason.

Barron and Savard are not amazing but comparatively a lot stronger competition than our winger group last year vs Slafkovsky (and Reinbacher's toolsy but not a physical freak like Slafkovsky), or in Kotkaniemi's case he was competing against scrubs like Peca/Chaput for a 3C role on a team that was trying to compete and solved a meaningful roster problem which is not the case for Reinbacher this year.

Kirkland, Montreal

It's not a hockey decision. He was not ready for the Montréal/Laval pressure cooker.
Sigh
Now God knows how many people will read this opinion of yours are run to everyone they know like it's a fact.

I doubt people will say that after playing 10-15 NHL games into the regular season where games matter.
No they won't.... Because they don't understand that it's not everyone who is a Crosby or a McDavid (1st OA picks), or even soon, a Bedard. The kid will develop slowly but surely. Playing with a guy like Dach will help him tremendously. The org would not be in that situation if it would had been managed better over the last three decades, with better picks, trades and coaching. Now they have to start from scratch. The D is already more promising. They have lots of work still to do upfront and in goals.

Sending Reinbacher to Swiss league I take it Barron will be starting season in Laval. Lidstrom must have made the team. Savard, Kovacevic, Lidstrom on right side. With 4 left D. Guhle, Matheson, Harris and Wifi.

Barron, Mailloux, Beaudin on right side in Laval. With Trudeau, Struble and Norlinder on left side

I glad that he isn’t in the NHL, seem like he could handle the AHL but the Swiss league is significant competition and we have good prospects now they don’t have to share time. Wish they would have had the same approach with Slaf…

I think most fans definitely understand that sending Reinbacher back is good for his development...and most fans would have been happy if they sent Slaf back also last year.

Not me.. Finland was not the right enviroment for him. Things might have been different if he was in a better program like Kloten is, but he wasn't.
