...and so the original poster who put Matheson in the RD spot was...correct...and no, Nemec wouldn't take his spot...so the poster was correct there as well...so what is your point here besides to argue for the sake of arguement??...
Matheson simply moves back to his natural position if MTL obtains 3 (or even 2 tbh) quality RHD.

He is not a RD. He is a guy playing in that role because MTL does not have enough competent NHL RHD. They had to go out and acquire a RHD this year already because they again, did not have enough competent RHD

David Savard, the guy who you all spent months telling me was so awful that he was singlehandedly dragging Hutson's results down into the basement? That David Savard?

And again, notable RHD Mike Matheson
Matheson at both side is 10x better then Nemec, what a dumb take.

Savard is almost at the retirement point but he's a way better in his own zone then Nemec at this moment, he's also great on the pk. Nemec is a solid prospect and miles ahead of Savard at transition and offensively but he would be MTL #7.

MTL kept Savard over Kovacevic for many reasons, PK, leadership and defensive assignments. He's a better player even through Kovacevic is playing great this year.

You are right, Hutson's numbers are really draggued down lol
Savard is playing with Xhekaj & Matheson is doing wonderfully since moved to the right side of D on the first pair with Hutson even being not right handed.

Matheson look better at RD, is it hard to understand ? None of these players are moving from LD.

Hutson
Guhle
Xhekaj

Nemec probably makes the team when Barron was here but right now, he would be in Laval.

Id keep him because he fits our need, but I can see the case for him being traded if a team was willing to do it, he has a lot of risk as a prospect following the injury and missing a near year of game time.

And yet he couldn’t beat out last years habs 3rd pairing guy, Kovacevic, for a spot on this years Devils

Yet another idiotic take - in this case, Kovacevic remains stuck in time as a Habs 3rd pairing guy from last season as we're all forced to completely ignore his actual play and results more than halfway through this season. While we're at it, let's also completely ignore Nemec's injury from earlier this season - to get an even more distorted view of reality.

Not sure why several Montreal fans feel the need to knock Nemec and Kovacevic, but OK...

I didn’t knock either player. Just found it funny that the poster I quoted was showing a list of habs dmen that had Kovacevic at 6th in average ice time and he said Nemec would crack that lineup.

I actually like both players. I didn’t want the habs to trade Kovacevic. In the Slaf draft, most say Cooley would have been their alternate pick. Mines Nemec.

Absolutely not, Reinbacher is not worth 5th OA. That's prepostrous. "He was injured blah blah blah" who gives a shit.

There's too many question marks for other GMs to move a 5th overall pick for Reinbacher. Until he starts to play again, I doubt there's any trade talks from the Habs.

He doesn't even have much runway to build his value back up this year with a March come back, so I'd bet he's held onto until at least next year.

Habs want to see what they have in him, they liked him only a couple years ago when they drafted him and so aren't going to sell him for cheap.

Conversely, a player that didn't exactly break out in his D+1, and then got injured for his entire D+2, isn't going to have teams chomping at the bit for him.
