Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

Insane? Did you see the proposal of some guy on the trade thread about getting the 4th OV to get Desnoyers? That's insane !!

Don't you think that Matheson skating is a 10/10 because I do.

If Matheson is 10/10, what is McDavid? 10/10 too so their skating are equal? Give me a break.

McDavid skating is 10/10, but his speed it's 15/10

What differentiate McDavid from all the other speed guys is his ability to make plays without slowing down one bit. Skating very fast in a straight line is one thing. Skating very fast while holding the puck and making dekes and plays is another. McD is one of the best ever if not the best ever at it

If Reinbacher stays healthy on this playoff run, I think it would put a lot of fears to rest, including mine. Seems he is playing well on average, which is pretty great considering the time he lost. I hope management keeps both Mailloux and Reibacher and focuses our other assets to get a 2C. I think both are more important than Hage at this point.

While I agree that both young RD are important, so is Hage, IMO. He's the only prospect in the organization with 2C potential.

If he gets us a 2C with term from a team wanting to rebuild, I do it. Hage isn't a sure thing to even be a C let alone a 2C.
Pretty much no prospect is a sure thing -- including Reinbacher or Mailloux. That's why it's important to have depth in the prospect pool. The two areas where the Habs have the biggest lack of depth are at RD and top 6 center. If you're trading away one of the few (or only one) you have, it better be for something very good -- and long term.

That's why I said that Hage is also a very important prospect -- IMO equally important as Reinbacher or Mailloux.

More important than Mailloux.

Who's he going to beat out: Hutson, Guhle, Matheson, or Carrier?

Reinbacher could stand to play some more AHL games next season if the team signs a long-term UFA for next year or make a trade for a top-4 D.

If not, then Reinbacher is pretty much NHL-bound.

And what could end up happening is that we'd sign/acquire someone this Summer and then maybe let Matheson go next year whilst we graduate Reinbacher for 2026-2027 and give more regular icetime to guys like Struble/Xhekaj as pure LDs instead of as a rotating cast of misplayed LDs on the right of any of Huston/Guhle/Matheson.

Guhle made the team at around the same age. Guhle is a nice player but Reinbacher has more offensive upside. They can be 4a and 4b. If you need offence you put Reinbacher in and if you need defence you put Guhle in.
