Kinda like Dach?I said this in his prospect thread but he reminds me of a glued together broken vase that we’re terrified of dropping again. Sure hope he can stay healthy

dont go there pleaseKinda like Dach?
If Mailloux is the only source of offence for the Habs, then things are way worse and they shouldn't/wouldn't be in the playoffs anyways. So we aim at losing 1-0 like we did against NYR coupld of years ago? We need to score goals. If we don't it's over already.
Struble is more than adequate. He's an NHL D who's played the season and some of the playoffs already. Don't see the need to bring in a green rookie in an elimination game on hostile territory. On the other hand he's an offensive D in ahl. We don't have this choice : Mailloux, Reinbacher, Lindstrom, Engstrom, Trudeau.
Never pretended he is. But he's certainly more offensive than any other options in the AHL if we have to bring someone up. We are already paper thin on offense getting worse should not be an option. If Mailloux is the only source of offence for the Habs, then things are way worse and they shouldn't/wouldn't be in the playoffs anyways.

People need to leave Mailloux alone and let him work on his defensive game in the AHL.Mailloux is more likely to turn that into 3-0 than anything else. He's not ready.
More 5-0 then 1-0, especially in WashingtonSo we aim at losing 1-0 like we did against NYR coupld of years ago? We need to score goals. If we don't it's over already.
You didn't pretend, you said it and that's nonsense.Never pretended he is. But he's certainly more offensive than any other options in the AHL if we have to bring someone up. We are already paper thin on offense getting worse should not be an option.
Well you can switch channel after 20 min instead of being frustrated for 3 hours. That 1-0 lost against NYR where we had 0 scoring chance thru the game was the most furstrating 3 hours of hockey i'Ve ever watched in my life. I think my life expectancy was reduced by 10 years after that game. We scored less than 3 goals in 3 of the 4 games IF we need to call someone up it can't be a purely defensive player.Mailloux is more likely to turn that into 3-0 than anything else. He's not ready.

Yep Mailloux needs to truly show his upside in these playoffs or it might be over for him in Montreal.Well, this is 2025 and this team has nothing to do with that team though, at all. Since December they're around 10th in GFs and have created offense. The losses are due to mistakes, the lack of a second line and inexperience. Mailloux isn't the answer to any of this. Have you watched him play this year ?
Struble can fit the job if he plays a goog game. I barely agree, not quite satisfy of his game lately. The upgrade must be upfront. I don't think 5 minuyes of Kapanen helps the team. Rockets have big guys having a good ahl season : Condotta, Xhekaj, Beck, Davidson, it's less risky to include a forward who will take the place of Kapanen or Heineman or Armia. I trust the team to remove the worse one and pick the best rocket player. You didn't pretend, you said it and that's nonsense.
Defense wins you championships. Mailloux is far from a finished product, and throwing him into the fire is not a recipe for successful development. I'd say Reinbacher, and Lindstrom would be better options than Mailloux and neither one is a better option then Struble.
Mailloux has not yet entered the chat IMO. Likely won't until next year after at least another 1/2 season or so, if he's still a member of the Habs by then.
Are you arguing i said Mailloux is the only source of offense? My post was not even about Mailloux as i said Mailloux or Reinbacher, My post was about the other guys not good enough for the NHL which is all our vets dmen in the AHL. This is again assuming we have to call someone up because of an injury. You didn't pretend, you said it and that's nonsense.

Isn’t this the one serious injury he’s had?I said this in his prospect thread but he reminds me of a glued together broken vase that we’re terrified of dropping again. Sure hope he can stay healthy
I think so. I don't know why I feel this way but I know I'm not alone in it either.Isn’t this the one serious injury he’s had?

I would take Engstrom over Mailloux at this point. Better skater, solid offence, way better D and plays both sides.Never pretended he is. But he's certainly more offensive than any other options in the AHL if we have to bring someone up. We are already paper thin on offense getting worse should not be an option.

Well like i said not the point. I said Reinbacher and Mailloux you can add Engstrom at the end of the day don't call up someone Michel Therrien would call up.I would take Engstrom over Mailloux at this point. Better skater, solid offence, way better D and plays both sides.
Yes.Isn’t this the one serious injury he’s had?
Anybody watched Laval and has an update on his play so far in the playoffs?
Forgot whether it was game 2 or 3 (I think 3) but he had one iffy game. Besides that he plays a mature style of play. Efficient. The more I watch him, the more I think he'd be a perfect compliment to Guhle on a shutdown pairing and then you go find someone for Hutson in the top 4.
Barring a catastrophic camp, I think he plays in Montreal next season, probably taking savards spot at least to start
Adding Pulock and Reinbacher would do wonders to this D squad. Big boost defensively and we need it badly.I actually think that we're going to either trade for a good, experienced RD (Pulock, Andersson, maybe a less-heralded option) or sign a UFA D (Ekblad, Gavrikov, Orlov, Perbix, etc.) to give us an additional veteran presence to solidify our defense.
And I also expect Reinbacher to be given a spot out of the gate on our blueline next season.
Something like:
Hutson-Reinbacher
Guhle-UFA/trade target
Matheson-Carrier
Xhekaj, Struble
or:
UFA/trade target-Hutson
Guhle-Reinbacher
Matheson-Carrier
Xhekaj, Struble
My preferred change would be to acquire Pulock and put him with Guhle. That pairing would be strong defensively, stout physically, and also have some good transition ability if we gave Pulock a longer leash than he gets with the Islanders.
