We have an abundance of LD. Why would we not consider trading Guhle to get that elusive 2C. Like HabsMD97 said, Guhle should not be untouchable like Hutson or Demidov. Completely agree and I also completely agree that Guhle should not be traded, but to say he is an untouchable is a bit over the board. I would completely change my tune if we had no left D, but as a reminder, we have: Hutson, Matheson, Xhekaj, and Engstrom. You have to be willing to give up quality to get quality.

Guhle could definitely be sacrificed for the right center. But it would have to be a dman good center.

Miller was literally the #2 defenceman on the presidents cup winning team last year. Guhle over Miller is just pure homerism i'm sorry, one down year doesn't change that.

He was just an example of a player comparable to Guhle, I'm not saying they have to get him.

Reinbacher is gonna play massive minutes with Hutson or Guhle. I don’t see Engstrom being more then a 3rd pair guy if he ever makes it

Guhle being called an untouchable is ridiculous. He has had like what, 1 injury free season in the past 5 years? You can't put him in the same category as Hutson or Demidov. There are plenty of defenceman in the league that not only play the same way as Guhle but are much better. You can trade for them or sign them in free agency. Hutson is irreplaceable, Guhle is not.

It would take quite an offer but I would move Guhle. A young #1 center.

One highlight goal doesn’t define a career. He has some tools but many hole and we have 2 stud LD for many years, so Reinbacher will play with one of them

Doubt it.. it'd have to be such an established RFA that it's a no brainer to go after them.

Lessons learned from previous teams coming out of a rebuild is never rule out a backslide. We can't be giving up a lottery first in an offer sheet unless the player themself is a lottery pick level player.

That leaves two spots for Matheson, Struble, Mailloux, Engstrom, Trudeau, etc to compete over.

But the Habs should absolutely draft defensemen if they're BPA, as a lot can change in four or five years.

Trading the future “secretary of defence” to Washington was certainly a boneheaded move. They all were, to be honest. It’s not like they got much in return, which is the real kicker.

While both player would be great to have on the team, Broberg shoots left and Holloway hasn’t been playing centre, he’s playing on the wing.
