Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

Kent Hughes, attending GM meetings, provided details on Reinbacher's absence. « It's just management. There's no structural problem in his knee. We're just being very careful, » he said in response to a question from Renaud Lavoie.

I didn't read it as them saying there's no problem, but them saying there's no structural problem, which is a nuance, but an important one.

You just have to look at the announcement of Kirby's injury and Reinbacher's injury.. one clearly led to the conclusion that there would be a prolonged absence and another that it's a day to day thing.

Yeah, so it seems this was a precaution due to most likely some discomfort. Not some built in plan they had, but a response to something. This is what I have been saying.

Are you sure you're in healthcare ? Pauses during return to play due to specific symptoms can be part of a protocol.

You guys can question me all you want lol. This is getting ridiculous. Think what you want. This is a player with a chronic issue, but he was playing fine. Now, he hasn't been even skating for a week. Context matters. People are making it seem that he is fine and dandy and this is just a rest. Based on the wording in that tweet, that is likely not the case. it isn't sunshine and rainbows how people want it to be. People are way too defensive about a potential problem here. I am just going to leave it at that.

What sunshine and rainbows ? You have multiple posts worrying about his health and his future, myself included.

You're being questioned because you're being vague, imprecise and are calling for conspiracy theories based on vague assertions that you're in healthcare when your posts reflect the sophistication of a rock.

Everyone is being vague. We don't have his medical records. Other people can speculate all they want, but I can't? I am the only one being personally questioned. Why? Because I am being more negative than most? So my speculation is negative while others are positive. I get it. My personal background shouldn't matter to have an opinion.

Oh, yeah, projection. How many games have Dach and Reinbacher missed since we got them? When I am wrong about something, I admit it. I am not wrong here.
Did Dach have any knee injury history when we acquired him? I'm not in healthcare but I do know the knee bone is connected to the thigh bone and not the wrist bone.

These lyrics prove it:

Yes context matters, and the context here is he got cleared to play almost 2 months ahead of schedule. -Every single game- he play in, from his return to the end of the season, is an unexpected bonus and he is managed as such. They already have him sit during back-to-back no matter what. And now they shut him down as soon the knee "feel funny" because there is no reason whatsoever to take a chance since him being able to play games during the regular season is already a win.

Given that Hughes mentioned recently that Guhle likely won't play if the Habs fall out of the playoff race, it tells me that they wouldn't play a recent top 5 pick in AHL regular season games unless they're extremely confident his recovery process from the knee injury and surgery isn't at risk.

In my experience actual, real doctors are not inclined to make precise diagnoses without looking at the actual information in detail.
I never said I was a doctor. I never provided a diagnosis. I am posting as a fan on a message board like everyone else with information everyone else has. Other people providing opinions weren't asked if they were "healthcare specialists." I also never said I was a specialist. You guys need to give it a rest. Also, the "plan" I gave an opinion on was a hypothetical plan expressed from another poster. We don't know what the actual plan is. People are acting like I am questioning management. I am not. I was replying to someone else's opinion on what the plan was.

From the get-go with Reinbacher they said they were going to take it slow and be extra cautious... and that's exactly what they are doing.

I think the context here is that the plan was probably not to have him miss any games except back to back games. So in that sense, he is missing more games than they anticipated.. but in their return to play protocol, there is probably strict monitoring and if David is feeling any soreness, then he is probably instructed to rest and be in the therapist room until there's no soreness or impingement or whatever it might be.

Sorry -- I didn't mean you personally. Not at all. I mean the general judgment im seeing in this thread on the management of Reinbacher from people with no clue whatsoever.

Nah, you said "this rehab plan is stupid" and then tried to use "I work in healthcare" to try and add credibility to your opinion.

That's why everyone is on your case and no one else is asked if they're healthcare specialists.

Anyhow, you're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but so is the rest of us :)

“To David’s credit, he didn’t come here and sulk because he was injured,” Hughes said. “He came here, did all his rehab, and he was really focused on learning how we play and how others play and how he can become a better hockey player. And, for somebody who was out for a long time, I saw him play two or three times live and a couple more on stream and have seen a pretty successful return to play. I’m looking forward to him having the opportunity to finish this season and hopefully get a deep playoff run in with Laval.”

- Kent Hughes

I never said management's plan was stupid, though. We don't know what it actually is. We can just agree to disagree at this point.
