Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Would we consider trading him? Assuming value/assets back are good

His potential is sky high. But injuries are annoying especially the knee. Could cash out now before things go more south. Or we bank on durability and we get a stud for years to come

Per Basu & Godin's lastest episode, it's the knee. See the section at 46:30.

Thx for posting this. Godin who discusses what may be going on with Reinbacher, says his source is RadCan’s Alexandre Gascon, who posted a piece about it on March 12th.

Several interesting points made in the Gascon article, this was particularly evocative:

“Reinbacher est revenu au jeu le 19 février, après quatre mois et demi d’absence, devançant ainsi largement le pronostic initial de cinq à six mois de convalescence. “

So he says, Reinbacher returned to action following a 4 1/2 month absence, which was shorter than the initial prognosis that called for 5-6 months of recovery time.

The cause for concern is how there have been several days where Reinbacher has not even skated.

The article confirms that the same knee that was operated upon is the issue but we don’t know if it’s an aggravation, a new injury or simply the byproduct and risk of his return having been shorter than the prognosis provided. Pascal Vincent claims that there is no setback and that they’re only acting out of an abundance of caution.

That's about as reassuring as can be all things considered. Hopefully it remains precautionary

People panicking because one of our top prospect rehabbing from a big injury is not playing in currently meaningless games.
No game is meaningless for our prospects. It's called development, which Reinbacher is missing a lot of due to an already chronic injury. I get the downplay for our own mental health regarding our favourite team, but anyone who isn't concerned at this point is in denial.

Getting reinjured is worse for development than missing a few games.

Imagine calling it a "chronic injury" and then telling people they are in denial for not having a panic attack about the situation.

I am in a panic for two reasons: 1. if he has to miss games, it looks like we brought him back too early, which makes me question our management. 2. if we didn't bring him back too early, the fact he needs to miss games again makes me question if we can rely on our #5OA pick to be a reliable member of our D-core moving forward.

Or it's been the plan since the beginning that he would miss games.

I'm perfectly zen for the moment. They can afford to rest him because the team is ahead and winning anyway.

I'll worry if he misses PO games.

If that was the plan, it is a stupid one. Let him heal properly so he can play without having to take precautions. If they built precautions into his return, which by all accounts is EARLY, they are playing with a young player's health.

Agree with the first part. I just have a different philosophy on this. Playing 12 min doesn't add constraints since he will play the minutes of the person replacing him today.
Because he is so important for the rebuild i want him to play as many games as possible.
If you are protecting him from injury maybe he should not have come back so early in the first place.
I was the only one to sound the alarm his first "rest" game back in February. If you believe this rest thing still you are naive. He hasn't played in a week now, there must some minor (i hope) issue with the knee.
Very disappointing to see that our potential 2 best shutdown D-man for the future are fragile. Definitely delays the rebuild.

I have to agree here. Do we know if Habs staff handle ALL injuries including AHL?
