Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
I worry about both Carrier and Hutson in the top 6.
Two small dudes who can wear down from a heavy forecheck.
We've seen it in recent weeks.
I agree with @Erika that Mailloux is traded and doesn't have the IQ of DR.
Engstrom might also be traded - or struble.
Curious to know what they do with Matheson, who's agent is already anglling for a new contract.
Sign him at 32? ooof, I don' know.

yeah they are small for sure, but neither of them are soft though, I've seen Carrier eat up some serious check and get out with the puck like nothing happened...and I view Huston like Caufield, we very rarely see Caufield get manhandled because he is so intelligent with his positioning, he doesnt shy away from contact either.

I dont think being small is a big deal for those 2, but I can see an argument where Carrier is more of a #5 than a #4 though

Yeah I really don't see the Shea Weber stuff lol (people were saying it about Guhle too and it was like ..?)

He looks waaaaaaaay more like a mix of Brent Burns and Pietrangelo out there I find

A piece you just need, or you're going nowhere.
Lapierre made the pieterangelo comparison as well minus his offensive game.

I don't mind the comparison and I wouldn't even throw out the "offensive game" part of it. If you watch the way Pietrangelo puts up points, its not like he's making crazy creative offensive plays a la Hutson. A lot of his offense comes from breakout passes/transition plays, or from getting shots through traffic on net, or through smart positioning on the ice. All three of those thing are hallmarks of Reinbacher's game as well.

I think people sleep on Reinbacher's offensive potential as well, I always go back to the fact that he absolutely shattered the draft eligible defenseman scoring record in the Swiss league, it's not even close. And he's shown good offense in his stints in Laval as well, again through transition, getting pucks through the net or good positioning (except his first goal in Laval, that was a beauty lol)

Which is a perfect fit with what the team needs long term with our PP QB sorted

Guhle, Reinbacher and Hutson are the perfect talents for there respective skills in the D Core
Hutson - PP QB and offensive Dynamo
Reinbacher - Breakout and All around
Guhle - Defense first
