DR will be on the starting lineup next year mark my word. He is already very very close to the NHL, post season in the AHL, a good off season, a good training camp and he will be in the top 6 guarantee
And if all of that isn't enough, he's a righty.

I agree they will play him behind Guhle and Carrier to start.

Hutson-Guhle
Matheson-Carrier
Xhekaj-Reinbacher

I think so too. We see Mailloux getting some NHL games and he's not near Reinbacher's level when it comes to defending. I think Reinbacher will probably be equipped to handle 3rd pairing minutes by the start of next season.

I don't understand how people here compare Mailloux with Rein. We compare them because they are in the same ahl team and Habs system? Yes, maybe but beside the size, skating speed, power shot and physical abilities, the main advantage of Reinbacher is the hockey IQ. I would say he's defenitivly a more intelligent person. Reinbacher takes intelligent decisions, makes passes tape to tape, is able to pinch on the board with speed and the right timing. His skating is excellent and offensivly I predict he will improve this aspect of the game because he will learn and because he's intelligent.

I'm not saying Mailloux is dumb or insult him but him and Rein are not on the same level.

The thing I notice with Reinbacher is that he always does the simple play, he doesn't complicate anything and he focus on defending, sometimes when you keep things simple it creates offense. His positioning on the ice is already elite. Don't forget that this guy already has 2 years of pro hockey in his career and it shows

They are different players completely.

Yeah I really don't see the Shea Weber stuff lol (people were saying it about Guhle too and it was like ..?)

He looks waaaaaaaay more like a mix of Brent Burns and Pietrangelo out there I find

A piece you just need, or you're going nowhere.

Guhle lacks the size of Weber and can't hammer guys in the NHL like he could in the WHL. I don't think Reinbacher have that either or the mean streak. I mean we're talking about the Man Mountain who smashed Zetterberg's head on the boards or destroyed Ovechkin at the 2010 Olympics.

As for the topic at hand, one thing that I've liked from his games at Laval is his willingness to join and support the offense. Watching Kloten in 2023-2024 was misery.

Yes, he knows when to join the offense and when to stay back.

I thought he was staying back a little too much in what we saw in general but you can see he is starting to get more confident and he’s carrying the puck through the neutral zone or send tape to tape passes in transition, create plays in the offensive zone. I like that he’s kinda on the half wall on the 2nd PP with Engstrom at the point, he can take shots on goal from there or find guys with his passing.

I’ve been very impressed by his level after his damn injury he suffered.

To say Reinbacher is more intelligent than Mailloux is an understatement. When you hear the kid talk, can you picture Reinbacher being involved in the same kind of scandal as Logan Mailloux ?

Reinbacher oozes IQ and intelligence is the first quality that comes up if you look at him. It just pops the eyes. The same can't be said about Mailloux.

They are not in the same league personality wise.
As for hockey skills, Mailloux can't defend even if his life depended on it. Reinbacher will be a stud defenceman with top pairing potential. He will be in the same mold as Jaccob Slavin, Pietrangelo or Doughty-lite.
Again, not in the same league hockey wise. Reinbacher is as close as untouchable as it gets for me while Mailloux would be the first one to get ship out of town in a package deal for any kinds of upgrade on the Habs.

But not mesar-generational

On the other hand Mesar has a chance to be generational at being a Mesar.

People went bonkers because we haven't had an offensive dynamo in decades and they wanted Michkov. It's entirely natural.

However dismissing offhand the issues many have had with MM or the fact that others also were wary of his reputation is IMHO imprudent. Funnily enough many of those who are scornful of us who were afeared are okay with Patrik Laine's mercurial attitude.

Imagine having Michkov and Laine on the same team. We'd be going through coaches like crazy.

Hutson - Reinbacher are destined to become that top pair for the Habs and that's potential to become a very solid 1st pair for many years to come!

I'd love to see a Guhle - Reinbacher duo. You could put 'em out at any time and any situation.

One day?

Guhle - Reinbacher
Hutson - Carrier
Xhekaj - Konyushkov
Engstrom as #7

Reinbacher needs lots of development. He’s not ready. Not even close.

Have you seen him recently? He may not be ready but he's close.

Three. Reinbacher started playing pro hockey in 2021. This is his 4th season playing vs men.

When you consider how long he's played at a pro level, and how well he's moving out there, I could see him coming up to the big club as a reward. But I think that might only happen if we're mathematically eliminated so its just a 2-3 game stint, and he returns to the AHL. I don't think they'll put the pressure of a playoff race on him.

But I have to say I'm very impressed with his mobility and his poise. If he can hold the blue line and get shots through consistently, he will be a perfect compliment to our D core.

I could see him getting a couple games towards the end of the season.

I personally believe he’s in the NHL next season. Habs will let him rehab in the AHL this year and help with their playoff run.
