His first AHL goal is a highlight every fan should see. I think it was the game tying goal as well.YOU I listen to when it comes to David and those 11 games last year
I know you watch those Laval games front and back lol

Thanks for the thoughtful response.I see the same things, which is why I have said all along that he's a lock to be an NHLer, I just don't buy the top pairing shut D that scouting reports and fans have been saying on him. I see the great skating, good gap control and active stick with a good first pass. The hockey sense is where I start to have some doubts.
When you say Guhle, do you mean as good as Guhle defensively or just overall impact? He was a top 5 pick so I fully expect him to be on Guhle's level of impact to the Habs at some point assuming the injuries aren't an issue.
As for his draft position, for sure it has an impact, I only saw a little bit of him at the wjc's before the draft so I didn't know him much but wasn't the least bit impressed with what I saw other then NHL size/skating/mobility. To me I can not stand drafting for need, I hate the idea and think it's a major mistake but they are going to get an NHLer for sure just a question of a top pairing, middle pairing or bottom pairing D as guys his size that move as well as he does and have decent puck skills are going to get some NHL games most likely.
I hope he's the next Roman Josi and if not I assume he should be able to develop into a solid top 4 D, but from what i've seen I just have concerns about his defense, but that's based off his NL games so when he's back in Laval I will be watching every shift and rooting for him to kick ass.
Thanks for the thoughtful response.
I don’t really see a Josi in Reinbacher. Again, i come back to the Guhle comparison. You said whether I thought he would be Guhle defensively, or in some other manner. I think his style of play will pretty much be very similar to Guhle with a tad less physicalness, and a little more puck carrying/rushing.
I feel like St.Louis era Bouwmester is a decent comparison, and best case scenario is a NYR McDonaugh type of D-man.
I really like the way he’s able to break up plays with his stick and kill the offensive with gap control and positioning. It’s not a sexy skill, and very boring for someone drafted 5th, but I still think there is a strong chance he becomes a #3. A player that can hold that second, minute eating pairing and fill on the first if injuries ever occur.
I’m thinking more later era Bouwmeester, just solid, great skating defender. Prone to mistakes here and there, but used long reach to break up plays, and skate his way into cutting off offensive lanesHey, if Reinbacher’s comparable is Bouwmeester…..I’d be ecstatic.
Bouwmeester had an elite skill set. The issue that held him back was decisiveness. Bou had a fine hockey IQ he just (occasionally) seemed to have a stutter step in his processing. IMHO.
I like Reinbacher’s game and WOW, he & Hutson had instant chemistry last year.
Cheers.
I think he grew 2 inches after the draft.Big boy.
Social media is a poxit's social media's fault, I heard that players from Team Canada were getting death threats for losing, what kind of f***ing piece of shit coward would even think about doing something like this. Makes me sick to think there's that many losers out there.
Who do you see as no. 1?Even after not playing for that long, Reinbacher skating looks silky smooth.
He's the Habs #2 defenseman when everything will be said and done, mark my words.
Hmm, he does look almost as big as Laine. He does look huge there. Not sure how much of that is because he IS a big guy, or just how SHORT several of our players are.
I feel like this post is the opposite of the truth. He was never drafted because of his offense. IMO there are some real question marks there. He was drafted for his defense with the hopes he might grow into some offensive output. His d is going to be stellar imo,To me Reinbacher is the ultimate wildcard. Like Mailloux he’s a big offensive RHD that will be forced to work a lot more than expected on the defensive side of his game because he’ll never be the top dog on offense or on the first PP. Because of Hutson and probably also Matheson. I think the Habs expected either Mailloux or RB to step in this season. It never happened.
Glad his teammates love him more than a few here…
there’s an easier way, just check their stalls to see who has photos of Michkov pinned up with little hearts drawn around himUh oh, looks like everybody on the team who was wearing a white sweater hates him though
Can we get some names??
I don’t address why he was drafted. You seem to know more than me…. From my viewings, I see an offensively inclined prospect that is defensively rough around the edges. That’s all I referred to.I feel like this post is the opposite of the truth. He was never drafted because of his offense. IMO there are some real question marks there. The biggest issue for me is Reinbacher's habit of letting people get behind him. It was evident in Switzerland and it was evident in Laval. As soon as he learns how to keep the play in front of him and/or himself between the puck and the net consistently he'll be a force. He has the tools and he's fortunate in that his reach allows him correct his own errors which is never bad in a Dman. Reinbacher does snuff out a lot plays in the Dzone something that will help our forwards maintain energy for offense. Can't wait to see where he picks up his game at.Can't wait to see this kid skate. His gap control was pretty good and he closes distance super quickly for his size plus he carries an absolute log for a stick out there. Defensive stop machine , nothing fancy , hoping he can be a Gustav Forsling / Jacob Slavin type . ( he can move the puck better than these guys as prospects though)
My only issue I've seen of him is he seems a bit lackadaisical at times with the puck on his stick
RB makes more rushes and goes regularly deeper in the offensive zone than Levshunov does in Rockford. He’s also more dynamic. Levshunov is looking right now like a big potato that stays home.he's going to have to learn to use his size better, he's no cream puff but for being his size he needs to use it to his advantage more especially now that he's on the smaller ice.
I think he would need a good bit of improvement to reach Guhle's level defensively, he can make mistakes that you see more from offensive minded D then say a Guhle who I don't watch too much in the NHL but any time i've seen him I don't think I've ever seen him throw a puck up the middle right onto an opposing forwards stick.
He can move the puck but he does have issues handling the puck from what i've seen, not Tinordi bad but it's something that will need work.
Who is sitting because he HAS to play.I wonder if he does a conditioning stint / short stint in Laval and then joins Montreal. Kaiden Guhle was pretty injured after he was drafted and only played 47 games in his two years post draft. Started in the NHL and exceeded immediately. Reinbacher is in his D+2 but he was drafted at 18, he's already the same age as Guhle was when he was a rookie.
