They did the same thing with Kirby Dach. It's behind paywall but according to this article Reinbacher has been working closely with the Habs coaching staff all season long. Has been analyzing games with the coaches and cutting highlights for them as well. Apparently Martin St. Louis wanted Reinbacher close to the team and always wanted to hear Reinbacher's opinion after games. He also asked Reinbacher to analyze some of the top defensemen in the NHL and work on the details he spotted while watching. Reinbacher says he loves working with St. Louis, says their connection is similar to the one he had with Jeff Tomlinson, his first coach in pro hockey who helped him get drafted this early and who managed to achieve promotion with Kloten and follow up with a strong first season in the NL before being forced to step down because of a health condition (I'm sure you all remember what happened to Kloten after Tomlinson stepped down).
I don't know if this was reported in Canadian media as well but I found it to be very interesting. Reinbacher seems to be really positive, says he learned a lot from working with he coaches...despite the injury.

Sorry to hear thatJust to make you worry more, I tore my ACL, pretty much fully recovered, tore it again, had cartilage removed, and it hasn’t been really good since. Avoid reinjury.
There is no official TOI but I would estimate between 22 and 25. I kept seeing him every second change and wondered what the hell was Vincent thinking. How many minutes did he play?
Any hope for him to become Jaccob Slavin 2.0?
I was hoping more Dobson 2.0. Would like at least some offense from a 5OA pick - I know, it’s not his fault where he was taken in the draft . . . but still.Reinbacher will be Slavin 2.0
This doesn't make sense at all unless one is only thinking about fantasy hockey. No team would ever turn down a player that turns into a Jaccob Slavin. Not saying he will....just hypothetically speaking.I was hoping more Dobson 2.0. Slavin? Great player to have on a team. And to think he was a fourth round pick! A lot of teams missed out on him. If Reinbacher even matched Slavin's career, it would be a big win for the Habs!Reinbacher will be Slavin 2.0
People think being good defensively and average offensively means you can be a Slavin and it's extremely naive. There is only a handful of players with Slavin's defensive IQ in the past few decades. To think Reinbacher will become that is very optimistic.I don’t think he’s gonna be as good as Slavin even if I love David. Slavin is the best Defensive Dmen and a top 10 in the league
I'm sure there's some, but most don't.People think being good defensively and average offensively means you can be a Slavin and it's extremely naive. There is only a handful of players with Slavin's defensive IQ in the past few decades. To think Reinbacher will become that is very optimistic.
I'll be happy with a steady, physical, mobile player. Just a good all around player you can count on in any situation. Not the best offensively, not the most physical, not the best defensive stalwart... just good at everything. We really need somebody like that we can plug into our top 4. I think Guhle will be that guy but it'd be so nice to have one on the opposite side as well.People think being good defensively and average offensively means you can be a Slavin and it's extremely naive. Roman Hamrlyk was like that for us. Just a really solid blueliner. You never have enough of those type of Dmen
I’d be very surprised if they doI’ll be so annoyed if they play him in the NHL this year
