Knee injuries, as well as knee operations, are so damn hard to really assess. While the timeline to getting back on the ice, getting back in the games, like it can all be projected pretty accurately, BUT to know when the player is back to his former (or close to it) ability is just.. not as easy.

Ive had a few knee dislocations, and knee operations, and luckily in the long run my last operation had awesome effect. In the short run it was the opposite, i.e. the focus was so much on stability that the knee lacked so much in the mobility side for the longest time.

My operating surgeon was "only" Aki Hintsa (one of the best ever in Finland, he was used also by F1 teams and Barcelona (football)).. and the NHL guys will have the best ones available. But its imo, from personal experience and from following these rehabs of NHL-guys, its a waiting game. One just hopes they can get back to normal physically AND mentally, that they dont start to fear situations unnecessarily.

I hope this kid gets back and can get back on track and can deliver already from the start of next season.

Yes, so 10 months is a low number after taking into consideration what you say. But what matters also (and it's different from an indivudual to another) is when he gets to his shape/game, he doesn't regress or have slowdown in his progression. If he can have a good progression curve, he'll end up being a very useful player. He was highy regarded by many teams at the time.

Nice, getting come action before the season ends is a big deal. I am one who doesn't love or hate this pick. I'm neutral and just going to wait for him to develop. Any Habs fan penciling him in our roster next year are reaching. This is a long term RD piece that should be developed properly and that is not rushing the guy.

100% agree. 20+ games helps him get back into game shape and test out his confidence with pushing his legs after that injury. This gives him piece of mind heading into the offseason and not a distraction for his mindset.

Probably won't know until he is 23 ish. I don't get the "it" factor vibes and what I see is someone who starts out at bottom pairing RD (maybe after next season) and we go from there. Seems like the type that will make small improvements vs a break out season. I doubt many Habs fans will have the patience it will require.... especially by watching Michkov put up points.

He's kinda been forgotten because of his injury and because we just have a pile of prospects. It's wild we could have this blue chip just show up in a year or two on the team in addition to everyone else.

He looked better in the AHL last year than Levshunov has this year, both in their D+1. Not sure if that's going to remain though since Reinbacher just got his knee destroyed and Levshunov is very toolsy. Still, a tough first half the year in Europe didn't kill his confidence.

Wasn't his knee injuries mild though before this one ? He missed like two games at the WC and a few weeks with Kloten, no surgery in either case. I'll be concerned if it happens again.

Also, I think the crew don't love the ballsack per say, just the sweat. They're pretty quiet when Michkov doesn't strain himself.

This is like the most laid back hype video ever. I'm really looking forward to getting this guy back with the Rocket, hopefully in like a month. I can't wait for the bad takes around here when he doesn't come back immediately at PPG in the AHL.

Lot of frustration ahead but I'm still looking forward to it.

He missed ~3 weeks, pretty minor stuff, especially for a knee.
