I never understood all the AV hate.

Though I did understand that cutting him loose because we were entering a rebuild that we actually didn't want to win in, made sense.

All jokes aside, he was one of the worst coaches I've ever witnessed. I single-handedly blame him for us not winning a cup during those years.

I have my doubts that Gallant is in the running. There's a lot of mystery boxes around him. I'd be okay if he's out of the running.

I personally don't like Tocchet as a coach, and wouldn't want him leading the charge. But I can't rule him out at this time.

Torts is definitely a consideration, though I think Dolan might like him more than the front office does.

Julien is a possibility, as is Babcock. I don't know if the latter is necessarily a good thing. I'd include Boudreau there.

The Rangers have been high on Sullivan for a while, so they might be inclined to see what happens there.

I wouldn't rule out Montgomery, or even a dark horse like Karl Taylor.

I really hope that isn't the list of available choices. No idea who Taylor is, so maybe he would be a good choice, but Sullivan might not be available and none of the rest inspire much hope.

I already do not like the next coach

Sort of being sarcastic, yet all the coaches for the most part do the same things. They all make weird lines, and they all switch them up. All of them pick favorites and play them more than they should. They are all stubborn in the face of reality.

DQ Worst coach..not too sure about that...the players played hard and did not quit....game day adjustments and flow of game feel ..DQ was poor

I was pretty happy with the way things went this season right up until the last stretch, but that last stretch was really terrible, and as Quinn said, you gotta look at the season as a whole... which includes the collapse in the biggest games of the year. Still, I thought it was fine that JD/JG would've kept him into next season and given him a chance.

Definitely no surprise that this happened though, and I'm not against it.

Jeez, I don’t really think it’s likely and I hadn’t even considered him until seeing him mentioned in a post above but Drury won a Cup with Roy in net and Roy is... certainly known for encouraging aggressive behavior. I can’t see them hiring Roy, but that would be interesting.

Mackinnon and Co took off when Roy left. Roy had one good year and then the players become numb to his antics. We can thank Roy for Quinn and every other coach pulling the goalie with like 5 minutes left.

I can't see how Sullivan is made available. Burke was on just yesterday with Dreger & Ferraro singing his praises. He has 1 year left and will be extended.

I know we took the lead with an up-tempo, puck control style. Stop doing that. Just dump it and return to the bench. Turtle. Hank will bail my idiot ass out...uh I mean our team out.

Oh we blew the lead even though before I showed up this same team literally had something like 74 straight games without losing a game with a 3rd period lead?

Let's just do that same turtling thing and suddenly become a team that chokes away dozens of games and entire PO series (and a cup final) as a result.

Oh and keep using my idiot defensive system even though you guys are aging and slowing down so it doesn't fit the personnel anymore. I won't coach the locker room either. let the vets do that. Can you believe I get paid for this? LOL

I think it’s the right move, but I also think the Rangers need to be patient to get the replacement. Their division/conference has some great coaches at the top. Rangers need to be able to compete at that caliber, especially to break into the playoffs

I do hope Drury interviews some AHL coaches like Taylor and some well regarded NHL assistants as well. I want this to be a wide range search and not the typical, pick the most experienced coaches list.
