At 4 mil you need more than “a goal in the playoffs”.

I expect a lot of players to score at least one goal in the playoffs at some point”

Yes but getting to the playoffs is the point, and he’ll help us get there.

Not sure why we have turned on David Perron? He’s been through a tough start to the season but what I see on the ice is good even though probably a bit overpaid (which I don’t care about because Brady is underpaid)

They have to make the playoffs. Losing 4 in a row with half our best players missing? We're the mustang that is losing control during the race, and going off into the crowd.

Ottawa worries me.

It's not that those other teams are great...it's that Ottawa keeps tripping over their own feet.

4 losses in a row and counting.

Every time we play good hockey to get our hopes up, we always go on some big long losing streak.

We're doing it again.
We're very lucky that almost all of the teams chasing us are playing 500 hockey.

When you have injuries, to key forwards, he absolutely has to contribute . And he has been a disaster and doing nothing when the team needs him most. Slow, second to pucks, and maybe that's a confidence thing, but for the sake of the team he has to find a way to do something, Anything. Guy has no pulse. No jam...just damaged goods

It's got nothing to do with desire, pulse or jam.

When you can't get to spots on time, you just can't be effective. He needs good players around him to work a cycle game and then we will see his positive traits.

Team needs to get healthy and find the game that had us looking like a team that would challenge for a division spot.

So far it is 2 steps forward and 1/2 step back...let's make sure it doesn't get worse than that.

I'm not sure who could look at Perron on Wednesday night and see a guy who can contribute in the NHL anymore. The biggest hinderance is the lack of footspeed - he just can't keep up anymore, and due to that every other element of his game falls apart. I would imagine that the club will explore ways to bury him on LTIR this summer, because another year with him on the roster is untenable.

A legit odd signing. I figured he would get a very small contract somewhere. I think his agent just pulled a fast one on staios. But when you’re hunting for vet leadership you’re gonna overpay

Just before the Four Nations Tournament & before the injuries hit, this team was actually looking at first place in the division as a possibility & they weren't that far behind. Then Ullmark had a bad back, then Norris went down, then Pinto went down, Jensen was also down, Tkachuk & Sanderson missed some games after the tournament. When this team is healthy they can play with anyone & when it's clicking they can score a lot of pts & just as important prevent goals against.

Finally puts a puck in the net. Hopefully, this is what he needs to start contributing his 20 goals/year. He looked somewhat relieved.
he could have at least 5 or 6 .. he like a couple others have been really snake bit.\

Nice to see him get on the board .. besides the goal I thought he was pretty effective

The goal he scored last night was more confidence building than his last one which was a total fluke.
I thought he showed some pretty good skill for last night's goal.

I thought he looked alright yesterday. Really doesn't look out of place to me even if the contract appears to be something we wish wasn't in place for next year. I'd still rather have him in the lineup than not.

I see so much criticism and emphasis on individuals here, but who on this team is actually producing up to their standard? It seems like it's been top to bottom.

Perron has 5 pts in his last 9 games. Hard to really complain about that, he’s gotten it going to the level we would’ve hoped for at the start of the year. His stat line is always gonna look bad due to the slow start.

He can play with our top 6 talent because he has the instincts for it. Him and Giroux think the game light years above the other marginal guys we’ve thrown there.

He’s not perfect but if he keeps going at this pace for the rest of the year I’m fine with him.
