Value of: David Pastrnak

The only missing piece is a true 1st line center. The defense is weaker these days but a good defensive coach can add structure again.

This pick must be top 5 to land that top line center and then the Bruins have the cap space to retool for next season.
That's what I'm seeing.. 1 or 2 players away. Not easy players to get but I see cap space and a team that I think good players would want to join. Many seem to be telling me that they need at least 10 guys to be competitive and the best thing to do is go into full rebuild and sell Pasta and co off.

I'm also wondering if people are aware that 2 top D aren't playing and are hurt right now? Or that the B's, IMO, are trying to lose because they want a good pick.

Honestly feels like they could be back in playoffs in short order. Time will tell of course.

I feel if Boston moved Pastrnak then McAvoy would be moved as well?

I suppose the path is there if they decide to go full rebuild. But as the others have mentioned - seems like they could try for a really rapid retool. The rapid retool seems more likely.

I’d imagine groups like Utah, Carolina, Chicago, Anahiem, Toronto if Marner leaves, and the Sabres would be willing to open the vaults to acquire elite talent if that’s what ended up happening. There are quite a few interesting young skaters on some of those teams. I think to nail down a pasta valuation you’d maybe want to find one of those interesting assets and go from there.

I think it would be funny if they kept pasta and mcavoy but moved both lindholms in a package deal. Buy one lindholm get one half off type of thing.

Schaefer and Misa will be day 1 NHLer's, probably Hagens and Martone too. Maybe not impact like Bedard and Celebrini right away but similar to Leo Carlsson and Adam Fantilli
That still doesn't bode well for a team that needs an impact player right away.

And it's the hardest piece to acquire.

Regardless, I'm still thinking the Bruins are very well positioned.

I had a dream few years ago that he would sign in Anaheim, LA or San Jose. Not sure how well he'd fit, or what the offers would be. But that was my dream.

Bruins are destined to despair if they move on from Pasta, 100%.

Potentially the future captain. Pastrnak also seems like a loyal guy, he's been that to his team in Sweden, his national team and Boston. Very likeable guy aswell.

EDIT: Got to add, would hate to lose him - but would also understand if he wants out.

Pastas at the age where if they are committed to a retool, they need to nail it in like 2-3 seasons.

If they don’t, and it looks like they need to do a full rebuild, Pastas value at 31/32 is a lot different than what it is at 28.
It'll be like the Ducks wasting their shot not trading Gibson when they started the rebuild.

They can sign a Marner type that shows him they are committed to getting this team back on track, if they don't, then let him go., I would prefer they get solid players around him he is a special talent.

I had Boston pegged as one of the teams to take the wrong lessons from Washington's success.

They're going to drag out a failed re-tool and end up where Pittsburgh is now with Pastrnak going for much less than they could get now.

The disrespect to Kucherov...
No disrespect to Kucherov, look again and do math. If Pastrnak was on Kuch spot he would´ve had at least 120 points and fight MacKinnon for n1 in scoring.

Pasta for Thompson, Peterka and two 1st round picks
In my eyes besides Ovy a superstar Winger like Kucherov=borderline 1C. I’ll take Larkin over Kucherov if I’m game 7 Stanley cup finals

Not sure if Boston is a worse team with Thompson in and pasta out especially if they get breakout year Thompson.

Edit- I’ll take Larkin over Pasta not Kuch
