Lindholm is our third leading scorer and he's .5 PPG. We might not even have 3 players hit 40 points this year.

Pasternak plays with shit linemates in Geekie and Zacha and is cold and still is a PPG guy. Handwringing over him is stupid and the teams supposed strengths G and D have been beyond disappointing.

We would be Buffalo without him.

Pastrnak eyes midseason break​

His offensive production considerably diminished thus far in 2024-25, David Pastrnak, an ever-proud Czech, didn’t hesitate a fraction of a second when asked if he’ll welcome the 10-day rest come February due to Czechia not participating in the 4 Nations Face-Off.

“Yes,” said Pastrnak, his broad smile and decided lack of further explanation speaking for him. “Yeah . . . can’t wait.”

Pastrnak, 28, banged home 108 goals and collected 223 points the last two seasons. Entering the faceoff Saturday with the Sabres, he was on pace for 30 goals and 82 points — solid numbers, but not the dominant force he has been since emerging as one of the game’s elite scorers.

Is he welcoming the break simply as a function of fatigue?

“Nah, I feel great, honestly,” said Pastrnak. “But you know, it’s a long season, so the break, I haven’t had those days [off] the last couple of years so it will be nice to recharge and spend time with the family and get your body ready for the second half of the season.”

Upon restarting their schedule out of the 4 Nations respite, the Bruins will have 25 games remaining on the regular-season schedule. A rejuvenated Pastrnak, back producing at his 2022-24 rate of return, could be the biggest factor in determining whether the Bruins clinch a postseason spot.

“Listen, we are very proud of wearing our jersey,” said Pastrnak, asked if he felt most of the Czech players anticipated the February break with equal enthusiasm. “Any time we get to play for our country, it’s enjoyable and we are honored. I am happy the NHL is going to the Olympics [Italy ‘26] and I just try to look at the positives. Obviously, that’s very far away . . . so I’m not focusing on that yet.”

I do beleive Pasta might have had to much off season break .
But not coming in with the big form needed, he is on track for a pt per game season.
IMO, his second half will be very good.
88 is an international star player.

There are probably 6 guys you can make that statement about. One things for certain,
and that's Kucherov is #1 without a dout , than you have Pastrnak, Panarin, Marner, Kaprizov and Nylander all staking a claim for top 3.

I have to chuckle ( it beats throwing something) at the number of posters saying Pasta is a fraud who needs to be traded

He's got 12 goals and 23 assists in 35 games which - if my math is correct- is a point per game. Not bad for someone who looks like he is fighting something. And let's not forget that with a clearly challenged offensive line-up he has 23 assists- not bad, especially since he doesn't have a lot of options when looking to pass.

Is he having a stellar season as far- no. Is he the Bruins leading point getter and on most nights the only offensive threat they have- yes. Would any other team give their left arm to acquire him- you bet.

Let's hope that he keeps up at the current point per game pace and that the Four Nations break gives him the needed time to come back for a late season surge.

He might be more fit. Not sure on Pasta training habits. IMO Pasta rely on his pure talent, rather than training..... but I say this and I say nothing
Getting assist is for me a very good thing. Pasta is adapting....which IMO is a great thing.

He said he was nursing an injury this summer. I believe this is true because we saw him working with a trainer (and wincing with pain).

Your right, but I think its more of his surrounding cast and whoever is in charge of the PP. No one at the point who puts fear in the opposition, who can/will blast a one timer. No one who can play the bumper who's a legit threat to pass or score. Everything is all about Pasta! Can't blame him for not having the cast around him. look up stairs ! This is all on Sweeney !! Its gotta be frustrating for him, id be trying cross ice, blind passes and praying to the lucky stars above that something good happens as well.

I just can’t blame Pasta. I think he’s playing through an injury but he’s still out there.This team is so bad offensively, the only other creative offensive player is Marchand. The pp is a joke everyone in the league and in their rockers know it’s a one timer for Pasta, but no changes in strategy or personal. But ya let’s blame the one guy who has elite skill, it’s gotta be his fault Sweeney surrounded him with a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners.

He's having a poor season by Pasta standards. He is still talented enough to score at a point per game pace even playing below his usual level. I buy the lingering injury, but even if not, the whole team looks out of whack offensively and Pasta is affected by it too. He needs to be better, and so do a number of other guys.
