Charlie McAvoy is also a leader, Pasta dosent have all the weight on his shoulders.

Zadorov is a leader as well.

And no let Brad stay in Florida, His time has past I hope in Boston

You love Pasta I get it but disrespecting McAvoy's leadership qualities by keep omitting him in the conversation makes zero sense to me.
I am not disrespecting Mac's leadership. I agree he too is a leader, but isn't on the ice at this time. I still know that Pasta is more of a leader than Mac. At this time, it is all on Pasta (FACT)

Zaddy...maybe on this depleted team but why then does he not wear an "A"?

I don't know if Brad might return or not but IMO his return will help this young team.

BTW. I DO like Mac and am looking forward to his return. Just because I believe Pasta is more of a leader than Mac doesn't mean I dislike Mac.

I absolutely love CMac and he's absolutely a leader but this team is Pasta's. Charlie will get the permanent A and work in tandem with Pasta starting this offseason. I think having Hampus Lindholm as an Alternate is also going to really help. Wouldn't be shocked to see Hammer and Zaddy rotate the A like Kelly and Krejci did for a few years.

Edit: The Bruins were right in only having Pasta with a letter after Marchy left. A guy like Zaddy doesn't need a letter to be a voice in the room. Look at Foligno and Kelly. Kelly got the A only a few months after being traded to Boston. Fliggy wore it a few times here but never on a regular basis. He was absolutely a leader.

I have long suspected that the letters on the sweater matter more to the media and fans than it does to the players. It is a necessary thing due to the rules and talking to the officials, but outside that :dunno:

Pasta will be in the top 5, maybe even a finalist but yeah... the Hart award generally goes to a player on a playoff team. I can see it being McKinnon again with Kucherov 2nd and Pasta 3rd.

Bergeron retiring stung me bad. It still hurts. A lot of it is that you knew the Bruins had nobody that could fill the void Bergys retirement left. I don’t see Marchand being traded as creating much of that same void

Especially with Pastrnak doing the shit he’s doing this season. Kids a special player. Had some super lazy moments early this season that I wish to forget, but he’s a special player.

for me it was juxtaposed to personal issues and hitting a point where you realize your youth is over, it was the sports reflection of that so it was a tough time. On top of seeing what was an amazing team crash out like that, and remembering the missed opportunity of 2019...coincidentally the year before the world changed forever.

I get it but still believe Brad (if he returns to the Bs) can help with leadership and the young kids.

Pasta is handling it well so far, but being the only leader is a lot of weight on his shoulders.

I do too, but if the reports are true on what he was asking for, it's just not tenable. If true, he valued money over his legacy with Boston, that's his call to make but not one I agree with.

Mcavoy is there including road trips - he’s just not playing in the game

Most of these guys are leaders and been captains of teams along the way - Minton was recently C of Canada WJ team ~ Khushnutdinov was C in Russian teams

Pasta is doing a great job

I believe Brad comes back and probably is the C

But silver lining is the development Pasta has taken and from all accounts McAvoy as well working and helping the kids

McAvoy wore a letter in 4 Nations

I'm on the fence about a Marchand return. It has to be at the right price and he has to have a reduced role to make room for a new top 6 to form. I'd put Marchand on the third with Minten and whichever kid proves himself out of camp. Marchand would still be a voice to be listened to in the room.

As much as I love Marchand, I wouldn't be upset if they didn't resign him either. I'm on board with moving forward.

I'm down if he comes back on a Bergeron/Krejci-like deal. League minimum-ish laced with some incentives...

BUT

The Bruins are not going to be good next year either, and Brad makes them less-not-good, meaning worse draft position...

We will have to take it on the chin for a couple of seasons here if we want to be a top echelon team again...

So yes, take him back for nostalgia, but maybe not for the greater good.

McAvoy and Pasta are both going to have letters on their sweater next season. Really don't care too much about who gets the C and who gets the A. Both would be fine, and both deserving.

Beyond that, I don't know. If you're gonna give out additional As, then I'd probably go with Zacha and/or one of the Lindholms.

I'm not expecting Marchand to be back. I think that ship has sailed.

I think it’s simple:

Pastrnak is your next Captain — but this is for a long time. Because he’s retiring a Bruin.

McAvoy: Your A and leader of the defense. Only concern is health because when he’s on, he’s a workhorse.

Could see them doing a H/A captain split with a few guys. Also fine with the traditional 3rd A and that’s it.

Bruins should not have brought Krecji, back, should have moved on from him and started the change. Bergeron, should have been giving a flat one year contract, I hated the fact that they were hampered the next year cap wise because,of the bonus money that was carried over, not only that they lost players because of the cap situation, losing hall was awful loss, with the contract he was on, and would made it easier to find replacements for Krecji and Bergeron, and think that I am stupid enough to think that is the only reason this team was hampered cap wise and other from making moves, I also know the well Sweeney went for it".
