Former Bruins David Krejci announces retirement.

My favorite Bruin ( with immense apologies to Bergy)

first met him at a fan event when he barely spoke English....to have the opportunity to watch him develop as a person and a player was just tremendous

i will be wearing his ( game worn) Boston Marathon jersey the night #46 goes up into the rafter

nothing but the best David ....we all miss you
 
1) Best Bs passer of his era. Will always remember him for making passes that I didn't think anyone else could dream of making. 2) Playoff Krejci was a real thing multiple times. 3) Selflessly played the role asked of him, and even had to play multiple seasons with junk wingers. His stats would have been even more impressive had the gm given him more competence at RW.

Hopefully he has a great retirement. Well-earned.
 
One of the most underrated Bs of all time. Lethal in the playoffs yet got so much unnecessary hate from some fans, all while he was carrying a revolving door of borderline AHL guys on his wings for like 5 years straight.

I think he led the league in playoff points for two years, too. The 2010 collapse against Philly wouldn’t have happened if Krejci stayed healthy. He was leading the team that playoffs up until his injury.

One of my favorites and really miss seeing him play. One of the all time great Bruins.

Found out the other day that Krejci sits atop the all time leaderboard for Game 7 assists & is 3rd all time in Game 7 points. Krech was a gamer through & through.

He really was. Other interesting thing from that list is you can tell how much the Bruins have loved taking series deep over the last 15 years. 4 of the top 7 on the G7 list in terms of number of such games played are Bruins - Kreicj plus Bergy, Chara and Marchand. That's the story of the Bruins in a nutshell I think - nothing ever comes easy.

The Julien-era Bruins took 9 of 16 series to seven games. It really did feel like that team could go toe to toe with anybody in all the best & worst ways. A series against a juggernaut Presidents Trophy winner? Seven games. A series against your hated rival where you are the underdog eighth seed? Seven games. A series against your other hated rivals who have made the playoffs for the first time in 9 years & are completely overmatched by your physicality? Yep, seven games. A series against a team whose goalies are all injured & they have a guy they picked out of the crowd playing net? Yep you guessed it, seven games.

They also were eliminated in seven games in five of their six years with the only non-G7 elimination being a six game barn burner against the Blackhawks. That team had flaws but goddamn were they must watch television especially in the playoffs. Almost never a boring series.
