This is 2023 summer I will remember for a long time because I lost two of my favorite in a couples of week only! I do think it was time for DK, while being a sad day. His body did not seem to follow last year, health issu.

One of the most underrated NHL of his generation, part of one of the best 1-2 center punch combo, and part of how successful the bruins were in the course of all past 15 years. Thank you DK.

Personnelle, I want his 46 to be raised in the rafters with 33 and 37!

The hits keep on coming this summer, not that they come as any great suprise. Thanks for all the great memories you have given us and enjoy your new life.

Enjoy retirement David! Thank you for being a true Boston Bruin. Will never forget his play in the 2011 run to win the Cup. Outstanding! We missed Savard then but he more than filled in With Milan annd Horton to lead an amazing line. Also if he doesn’t get hurt in 2010 vs Flyers (cheap shot!)…..I think the Bruins make the finals that year too. He was that important to them.

Hope everyone on here is having a nice summer so far!

His last game he was first star and wham - kind of like his career, always overshadowed but those that watched his entire career appreciate how special he was

He always reminded me of Fred Stanfield - two of my top 10 favorite Bruins on and off Ice

Well we all knew this day would be coming when him and Bergeron would both be leaving,he was great during the cup year probably would’ve been the MVP if not for Timmy’s great run. It’s to bad the Bruins couldn’t have won more cups before they both left.

So DK like to wait until after all the Bergy attention and then quietly announce his retirement.

He has been my favorite player since I met him at a 2008 fan event ...to watch him mature as a player and a person has been special. His numbers - what are impressive - don't reflect the number of years where he played with less than top tier wingers.

Understated, classy and clutch.

I have his game - worn Marathon jersey which will be on my back when his number goes into the rafters.

33-37-46 - that's a lot of talent and leadership to lose - lucky for us we had them for so long
