He will need to be dealt. He and Laughton are repetitive with Laughton having more upside. We are also paying him less.
Considering his cap hit is 2.4 million but actual salary being paid by acquiring team will be 1,075,000 after bonuses are paid by Leafs. We should be able to find a team with cap space looking for a 4th line center at 1 million dollars that is better then aging free agents that teams normally sign for minimum every year. We should be able to get a pick back for him 4th or 5th round pick same as our deal when we traded Lafferty
Might even be able to slap him with a pick at the draft and move up.Considering his cap hit is 2.4 million but actual salary being paid by acquiring team will be 1,075,000 after bonuses are paid by Leafs. I believe Steeves said he won't be back unless he's on the big team. Which I think hurt his chances a bit when you demand. Otherwise I liked Steeves but he's looking for something new even if it's the same dance.Agreed. But if not, I'm more than happy to ditch him with a buyout. The roster needs better than these "jack of all trades" losers who don't move the needle. Kampf and Jarnkrok are total duds and the team would be better off with Steeves or some rando waiver claim.
Yah God bless old coaches and the devil's they know lol.I think he ends up in New Jersey with Keefe where he had the most success, likely a 5th-7th is coming our way, the league is still plenty short on centres.
Wouldn't buy him out. The made cap room on a buyout for him is a vet minimum player amount. You better off putting him on Robidas island to get the full 2.4 million.
But there should definitely be a team interested in his services. He is a serviceable play at just over a million in paid salary for acquiring team
I think there'd be a market for Kampf if we ate 25% of his salary. Nothing significant but I don't think a buyout will be necessary- fingers crossed.Jarnkrok and Kampf both need a chat with the Bobs from Office Space. "What do ya say ya do here??"![]()
