Tell him nothing is going to happen unless the right deal comes along and he should focus on playing.
That's what they are doing. Just because it doesn't take months doesn't mean they aren't getting the right deal. He is still young and hot. Cash in while he still checks the young and hot box.

That's true but there is a difference between the impetus for the move being his request for a fresh start versus cashing in because you don't think he will develop into a core player and are trading him while his value is highest. While the team can't come out and say the reason is the latter, they also shouldn't be indicating it's because of the former.

It is what it is and I'll get over it because every situation is different and whatever but I'm tired of being a place from which a player wants a fresh start.

Unfortunately, by acknowledging these requests and acting on them, I think it only reinforces the message that it's okay to voice these requests. Instead, I think the front office should be messaging that requesting a trade, unless you're a veteran player or there's an extreme circumstance, will simply not be listened to and is not productive. Agents can play their games and players can try to be toxic in the lockerroom, but those antics will be firmly ignored.

Feel like it says more about them than us. Jiricek had every opportunity and shit down his leg. I want to be a team where minutes are earned.
You can have a team where minutes are earned and where players know it is useless to make a trade request unless you have actual leverage (are a veteran, pending UFA, extenuating circumstances). Otherwise the team needs to treat the players like what they are - employees under contract.

No issues with getting rid of him. He seems to be uncoachable and feels entitled to be in the NHL. He can't skate and his position is so poor that it's embarrassing at times. Like other entitled players that we've seen here before (Filatov) I don't think things are going to go well for him. I'll not be happy what we get for him because he's a high pick, but I think the return isn't going to be great and for good reason. Yeah he's only 20, but as a defender if you've gotten this far not knowing how to skate or use positioning effectively, I don't have a lot of hope for you being successful in the league. But then again, my hope doesn't mean a damn thing.

If he wants out you take the best trade that seems to fit your needs going forward and you never look back. All this, "What if becomes a great defenseman "? So what, he probably wasn't gonna do it here.

Sometimes, people sound like the perpetually feel bad for yourselves Browns fans. Happiest in their misery.

CSKA MoskWTF?
I personally think Rossi is a bit of an ambitious ask at this point. He is having a resoundingly good season. Zeev Buium seems like a perfect 1-for-1. But this is just me talking out of my aztec.

Wouldn't get much push back here about Buium. Probably can't say the same from Minny's POV

Sure but why are they "committed" to moving him? If someone offers you better value for him, great then make the trade. If they don't, then you keep him and tell him to come back when it's time for contract discussions.

Why are some people still acting like Jiricek, and Laine from the past, haven’t all but literally asked to be traded and obviously gone about things much differently than almost every other player?? The “issues” with him and the organization aren’t going away.

At some point the focus has to be about the TEAM winning hockey games. Not about getting every little inch out of value of each PROBLEM player. It’s also NOT a guarantee that his value increases from this day forward.

Mukhamadullin and Zetterlund for Jiricek and Sillinger

Because Jiricek is a player you have to get every inch of value out of and this isn't as dire or distracting as the Laine scenario. This is a kid on his ELC who can want what he wants but Waddell doesn't have to make it happen this second

Shakir is good, but I would rather just go a 1 to 1 trade with Utah for Simashev

Utah is hurting badly on RHD to a point where Jiricek might legitimately get top 4 time there

This one was different from the earlier one posted. CJ adds that we might consider taking a depth defensemen. Also adds time is of the essence because Jiricek doesn’t want to be in the AHL forever.

If he wants a change of scenery then he doesn’t want to be here
I don’t want any players who don’t want to be here
That has been a huge part of the problem here
Foote, Bread, Bob, Carter, who am I forgetting?
Good riddance I say

Depends on the picks and how they help DW build his portfolio here while getting rid of Jarmo guys who don't fit.
Nah, it's what he said. The only way I think it would be acceptable is if he already had something else in the works and can use those picks as part of the deal but at the same time it would then just become why didn't you just use Jiricek in that type of deal.

It’s very possible that none of the guys from MIN, SJ, NSH, PHI we’ve been discussing are on the table at all. Maybe McGroarty is the best 1:1 deal we could get. If that’s the case, I might prefer high picks, but only maybe.

Problem is there is likely protection on those picks or they'll come from teams drafting later.
