He's gotta be able to play defense before he can truly breakout.

I think if he makes the team (and truly earns his spot) he should be given a slightly sheltered role with heavy PP time. Once his confidence and play is on track slowly start to give him more defensive responsibilities while his confidence is high. So when he inevitably he makes a mistake and f***s up, it doesn't just tank his confidence.
