Starting to think Seravali is full of shit.
He is.

Years ago when I actually used Twitter I called him out for just making shit up and he got mad about it.

At the time a bunch of shit that was coming out at the trade deadline didn't happen at all.

Then at the 2023 draft I believe it was there was all this talk of trades and nothing happened. Not even trading up, or down.

If Jiricek isn't traded by 10pm EST tonight, the earliest he will be is Sunday or Monday.
I was really hoping for a trade in the last 24 hours.. got all excited. He'll probably just stay in Cleveland for the rest of the year. His buddy, Svozil, got suspended for 3 games too. It's not going well.lol

Not digging on Wallstedt. Just sick of hearing how far Jiricek's value is down because he's.....dominating the ahl at 20 years old.
His value is taking a hit because of the supposed rift between him and organization, which is the only reason CBJ would trade him at this time.

To be honest, this season Wallstedt's value has definitely gone down. However, the Wild are not looking to trade him so it doesn't really matter.

That kind of thinking is only valid if only one or a few teams shows interest in a player.

Jiricek is a super young D with a perfect body for hockey and high upside, and every team can fit him and his ELC under their cap. Many teams should be calling the CBJ and driving his value up, especially teams who don't get to draft in the lottery often and are trying to gamble into keeping a window open imo.

Nobody is going to offer an equivalent prospect. Columbus will have their choice of Ohgren/McGroarty+mid prospect+pick type deals if they choose to trade Jiricek.

You might get a team’s top prospect included in a package, but that’s because a top prospect for a team like Pittsburgh would be the 4th or 5th best prospect for Minnesota.

No hell.

The Sabres never trade Helenius.

The Finn Helenius is a greater talent than a Jiricek.

Helenus will play more in the NHL next year.
Maybe

Helenius is probably a good sniper or a good scorer a great talent.
I know we just have a lot of forward prospects, and I wouldn't want to trade him either.

What's the need or ask from Columbus?
I liked Jiricek a lot in his draft year and would love him in Montreal.

If they are looking for a similar player, I could see Mailloux as an option. Even tho he's shown great things , he was drafted by the previous administration. Not unlike Jiricek, his defensive game is not a strength.

Would The Penguins have any interest in acquiring Jiricek and moving one of their vets to make it happen? Would Columbus be interested in that?

I thought about Mailloux. But, and I know I'll be in the minority here, I legit think Mailloux is a better player. The negative PR stench around Mailloux aside... the kid is a stud.

Just an idea, but with BUF also apparently looking for a shakeup, and considering their needs at RD:

Jiricek + Sillinger/DBB for Byram + Kulich/Ostlund?

Byram can take Provorov's spot when he gets subsequently moved this year.

Still think keeping Jiricek makes the most sense, but if he HAS to go, for whatever reason...

I feel like BUF needs a veteran RHD. Jiricek not a great fit for them. They should be after a Carlo or Parayko type.
