I’ll let Columbus fans weigh in but I doubt many will like this.
I watched a lot of Savoie in MJ after the trade by default as I tried to catch as many of their games as I could to watch Mateychuk and experience fun hockey since CBJ hockey was not that last year. Just like it has by everyone else in this thread it's a pass for me fairly easily. I don't think anyone has seen it and thought it's a good idea outside of Edmonton

Jiricek for Simashev

Jiricek for Rossi

Jiricek for Wallstedt

Jiricek for Pens 1st (only lottery win protected)

Those are acceptable in my books
lol get real! Wild aren’t trading wallstedt and he’s not worth Wallstedt. He’s not worth Rossi either unless starting C is coming back

There’s nothing suggesting Wallstedt is worth much more given his recent struggles, but Columbus goalie situation is dire and we need improvement there

Detroit shouldn't trade ASP. Anyone else and their top 4 is looking like Seider, Erv, Asp and Jiricek in 2 years. Good lord would that be a top 4 in 2026.
I just don’t see Yzerman getting involved in anything similar to a Drouin situation. Where, if it’s true, a kid and his agent are trying to dictate development.

The fit would be great though. To have those 3 for the next 7-10 years? Detroit would be very hard to matchup against. Then ASP would likely come in and have tons of extra space, to do his thing. He’d be the one who’d play the left side btw..

You’d have to think it would cost something like Wallinder and Rasmussen.

Interesting BTW, yesterday heard some talk that Rasmussen was almost traded this past weekend. I just figured, if true, it was Calgary or Seattle. Calgary cause I know Conroy likes him from last year talk, and they’re looking, or Seattle because they’ve been watching DET too much recently. DET has also been watching Coachella Valley and Seattle recently from what I understand. Was just assuming Rasmussen or Copp to Seattle for Gourde (because of the Yzerman connection) and a prospect. Know DET has gone out of their way to watch Winterton for a long time now, and actually surprised they didn’t draft him.

Anyway, maybe it was in a deal with Columbus instead. One of the media guys did say Columbus was close this past weekend.

I still find it hard to believe Yzerman would be in on this. Detroit still loves over marinating prospects. They’d have to really believe In Jiricek, and have the confidence he’d go down to Grand Rapids “IF” they believe he needs it.

Something we do see btw, when prospects have done this. McGroarty recently.

Iowa sucks but Wallstedt IS struggling. He’s probably a fair return for Jiricek in a vacuum, but CBJ isn’t dealing from a position of strength so they likely don’t get full value.

You think the Rasmussen trade thing is something they revisit down the line? I think Detroit fans would be very okay with giving him up at this point, all though we’d probably prefer It be for a defenseman.

Columbus isn't going to deal him if we're not getting his full value? And why wouldn't they get full value, he's torn up the AHL when he's been there, he's only struggled in the NHL, which goes for just about every 20yr old dman ever. He's gonna continue to play in the AHL and continue to raise his value further. This is only forced if Jiricek decides he doesn't want to keep playing. But he's not good enough(NHL ready enough) to do that. Look at what happened to Mcgroarty...

Jiricek for Rossi

Jiricek for Wallstedt

Jiricek for Pens 1st (only lottery win protected)

Those are acceptable in my books

Do you meant this as in #1 protected or top-3 protected?

Either way, I can't see the Penguins going for either of those. If they had #10 at the draft, I could see #10 for Jiricek straight up. But they're not going to trade the pick as-is because it's entirely possible that the pick will be too high to justify trading for Jiricek, even if they don't win the lottery.

A lottery protected 1st could mean as high as 4th this year, and protecting the pick this year likely means that the 2026 pick would be unprotected. The only way I'd trade a 1st right now is if it would be indefinitely top-5 protected, so the Penguins could keep pushing the pick back until they're not picking in the top-5.

If we give up Jiricek for a goalie I'll be pissed I don't care who it is.

Well if they are asking for pipe dreams like Rossi of course they won’t like it.

But realistically, the trade for two young prospects still finding their way, with nearly equivalent draft pedigrees, should be on considered. It’s after all, what Waddel is asking for and so far not finding. I highly doubt the Oilers offered it though, the Oilers mouthpiece Bob Stauffer already said they aren’t interested in Jiricheck. The moment Savoie sees time with McD or Drai his value goes up immensely. So I’m just throwing shit out there for my own curiosity.
By this logic, instead of buying out Boqvist, we should have traded him 1-for-1 for Bouchard.

He’s most definitely touchable after the Gus emergence
He's had a rough start in Iowa this year, but was by far their best goalie last year (22-19-4 and .910 vs. 4-14-4 and ,881 from his backup), and is very promising. His lateral movement is his only real flaw from a technical standpoint, but he's so positionally sound and large-sized that it would be surprising to me if he doesn't become an NHL goalie, and probably a starter.

Gus has been really good this year, but his emergence was 2 years ago. So how is he emerging again? Because he was bad last year. His inconsistency should not be ignored, and I would be upset if the Wild moved on from their best goalie prospect just because they have a guy who has some really great stretches. I'd much rather they hedged their bet on Gus with Wallstedt, platooning them. I'd prefer that over having Jiricek, personally, at least as of today.

I wonder if STL would be interested in him, not sure how much longer Faulk will stay and if Parayko will be the same guy he is now, 2+ years from now. We may be in dire need of a top 4 RHD in the beginning of the steen era, , especially if Adam Jiricek takes longer to arrive.

We have a plethora of young fwds, and some quality but not elite D in the system what would CBJ fans be interested in?

Thomas, Kyrou(to most), Dvorsky and Snuggerud will be no go’s from Blues fans…and myself lol
