A little over 2½ seasons, and he is the Kings' Moses: leading us to the promised land. One Stanley Cup, one WCF berth, and yet another chance to win a Cup (SCF berth).

I know a lot of you have *****ed and complained about some of his moves, or lack of moves, but I am not smart enough to coach a NHL elite team. He is. I have full faith in this guy, and his results speak for themselves.

He is a **** ing winner. AINEC.

Never doubted him for a second. For what he has with this team over these past few years is just remarkable. We may always question his tactics and what not, but he sure does get the best out of the players. Love ya Darryl. :yo:

I think I got dibs on that;)

I love Sutter. Made the right changes in the end to get the win

I am a die hard Flames fan and I miss him dearly. The biggest mistake he made was stepping down as coach of the Flames otherwise he would probably still be in Calgary. If only he had one more goal scorer in 2004.

Yup, perfect example of a guy well-slotted as a coach and not a GM.

Package deal, trade Sutter, Williams and Brown.

Sorry, I've been reading old threads... Am I doing it right?

This guys starting to grow on me....

He's pulling it off.... Nolan on the second line against the Sharks was questionable. Be nice if it worked, but he spent all year seeing that it wouldn't. I am impressed with pretty much giving Lewis less then 6 mins in an overtime game. Not that I hate Lewis, but he was getting destroyed by Kane. Sutter loves Lewis.

Going forward I would love a few things...

-Toffoli/Pearson to make the team out of camp next year. Sutter wants rookies to earn their spot, which is cool... can be frustrating.

-Backup goalie: Use the backup goalie. Don't ride Quick all season... back up gets more XP, Quick is not as worn down for the playoffs.

-Crazy defensive strat during regular season: Do this when the backup is in net. Then use the rest of the time to have the guys develop their offense. This keeps the players from burning out (like before the Olympic break) Also helps guys develop their offensive skills.

-Add the fast break option to the Tortoise breakout. Keeps teams like the Sharks from pressuring the Kings breakout with 3 forwards in the offensive zone.

Pretty much defense is important, but so is capitalizing on chances/breaks when you get them along with offensive pressure.

The guy has a playoff series record of 9-1 with the Kings so far. You can get bogged down in the details of his coaching choices all day long, as you can with any coach. The big picture though? This whole team, from players to coaches, is doing pretty damn good.

Some of the people here ***** about everyone. Sutter knows what he's doing and those who don't like him will look back when he's gone and realize how great he is. We are so lucky to have the players and coaches/management we currently have.

Clifford was on the ice for something like 10 shots against and none for in under three minutes last night.

After getting burned by his rolling lines strategy in Game 6, it was fantastic to see him finally shorten the bench.

Love his attitude and presence but hate his matchups or, really, lack thereof. Just so happy that when the chips were down, he abandoned his normal strategy and sat two players who were completely overmatched.

Yep. He's a far cry from McClellan crying about the officiating after Game 6. Night/Day reaction compared to Sutter after losing last Friday. It's total BS that the best games they played in the Chicago series were the ones they lost but I think he actually gets the team to believe that.

Clifford/Richards/Lewis need to be better, period. They've shown flashes of good stuff but they are clearly the worst +/- on the team throughout the playoffs. Lewis is the worst, at -8. These guys better get their ***** together.

I loved that he was rolling 3 lines by the end of the game. That was huge. Best coach we have ever had. Seems like an awesome guy off the ice too. The way he treated Quick's daughter during the presser in 2012 was a true glimpse into the real Sutter. I also love seeing him with his son in that doc about him after they won the Cup.

I was not a fan of him when he was hired but after they won the Cup in 2012, I'm firmly on the Sutter wagon. He is already a Kings legend and he hasn't even been here 3 years. His interactions with the media are hilarious.

Its like something out of a movie when Dean Lombardi showed up to Sutter's farm to convince him to come coach the Kings. Seems like the act of a desperate man but apparently he had his finger on the pulse of the team and knew exactly the right guy to handle them.

In his 14 seasons as an NHL head coach, he's taken his team to the playoffs 13 times. The one time he failed, was when he was a mid-season replacement with the Flames in 02-03. He took that team to the finals the following year (Calgary had missed the playoffs 7 straight seasons prior to Sutter taking over).
