Dark Side Of The Ring season 4

He is definitely passionate, which i can appreciate, but his takes are so set in "it's how we've always done it" which is something I can't stand from ppl...fans are too smart and want to see larger than life things, but want their characters to be real and relatable...and I feel he can't understand what that means.

I do agree, psychology needs to be protected and better in today's wrestling...

my biggest gripe about Cornette is that he insists that the women shouldn't have hardcore matches (even if the story calls for it). dunno if his opinion has changed since Timeless Toni v Mariah May

The Tony Halme episode was prettt crazy to watch

As for Cornette I listen to him because he’s entertaining and don’t take it too seriously

I think his gripe is more why is everybody having these gimmick matches for the sake of having gimmick matches then actual women having them. In general he will hold female wrestlers up to the same standard he holds male wrestlers so he doesn't mark them on a curve.

i checked. he hated the match

I just watched the Tony Halme episode.

This is hard to find the right way to say, but for anyone else think Jim Ross is just being performatively angry for clout? Not excusing an SS tattoo or anything, but I don't think he'd have cared that much in 1993 and is blowing it up to play to the culture in 2025 and be all "I'm on the right side of history" and whatnot while patting himself on the back for Borga not being hired on his watch (though I wonder if he feels the same way about the Harris Brothers who he did hire).

Cornette comes across as authentic. Exaggerated but his feelings are real. JR just comes across as playing to the crowd and putting himself over and it's a little hamfisted.

As a regular listener to his pod (out of habit at this point), he's a guy that's heavy on praise and light on criticism. He's shit on Borga for years. When discussing the Mt. Rushmore of bad wrestlers, Borga was the first name that came to mind and that was back in 2020.

Ultimate Warrior is the other wrestler that he'll take shots at. The rest are backstage/office types.

You know, I thought the same thing.

Did he get any heat for previous ones he was on? Seemed a lot more forgiving, for lack of a better term, on those, even Benoit. I know Dreamer got heat for the Plane Ride from Hell ep, but can't remember if there was anything towards JR.

I didn't realize Dreamer took heat but I'm kind of glad he did. Saying that Flair putting the flight attendants hand on his cock was no big deal is a pretty dumb and tasteless thing to say.
