Watching him play now vs Austria. (US just tied it 2-2 after being down 2-0) Not the first time I've seen him play either, all the WJCs of course and any habs camp he ever attended. He has come a long way, really long way since last season and just wondering what you guys think of him joining the team with all these injuries and especially if Gio is serious... (of course only if we play more than just this series)

He has the speed, hands and shot for sure, already better than DD by a mile, looks way better than Palushaj and Bjugstad (who I'm a huge fan of) and who he is on a line with right now. Could be a better option than Dumont seriously...but coach might not have faith in his knowledge of the system at these crucial times...

Mark Stone, Silvferberg and others made the jump last year in the playoffs for other teams...It is pretty common these days.

I'm surprised he was so underwhelming with the Dogs, from what i heard at least. Seems pretty unlikely but who knows. Good to hear he's doing well at the WCs though.

Kristo doesn't have a contract to play with us. Therefore, only start considering him for next season's camp.

Good to know he's that good. What sort of player is he?

It may have been decided to give him the benefit of a full off season under the supervision of our training staff. Because of his NCAA eligability he hasnt had that yet. Adding some bulk will only help him.

He is under contract this year. His 2yr elc began this year.

Nice pass he made on he Palushaj goal, great experience for him. Would like to see him challenge for a roster spot next year

ROTFLMAO.

"way better than DD"

but also

"could be a better option than Dumont".

So Kristo is way better than a current 45-60 point NHL player, but just might be a better option than a potential one-day fourth liner.

He was only there a short time with a very very young team so you can't put much weight into that. I think the reason MB and co brought all those guys to Hamilton is to expose them to a higher level, giving them a taste of what they need to move up next year or the one after.

Real good experience for Bozon and Kristo at WC's plus Dietz and Thrower at the Memorial Cup. Exposing kids to high pressure situations no doubt helps their growth regardless of if they fail or succeed.

I hope Kristo starts next year in Hamilton. Let him get his feet wet there for a half year to full year. Would probably get an extended preseason look also, which is good experience for him. Then maybe call him up if injuries hit, possibly have him replacing Gionta(somewhat) as a top 9 guy for 14-15 if his progress warrants it.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The number of ridiculous posts in the last couple of days is embarrassing as a Habs fan.

Kristo definitely needs to put on some muscle and establish a firmer understanding of the pro game.

He would be a huge liability if he were to join the big club right now.

How would he be a liability? MB is a very good bench manager, he gave Gallagher and Galchenyuk insulated minutes most of the yaer and they rarely got exposed, I'm sure Kristo's defensive game is more polished than theirs after 4 years NCAA.

How hurting is Team USA that Aaron Palushaj made the squad?

With that being said though, I think they have him in the WC to have him playing rather than sitting on the bench. If the Bulldogs made the playoffs, they could have done the same thing if they wanted to have him playing vs. and with better players.
I remember in 2007 when they won the calder, Halak was the starting goalie all year but they let him play for Slovakia in the WC and put in Price
