I must state that the above roster is preliminary, 3-4 of them will have to be eliminated before start of the tournament.

This U20 team is the best we have had in the last 6 years, and it could be even stronger next year. The starting goaltender will be Kristers Steinbergs who already has been playing on the Danish national team and is one of the best goaltenders in the Swedish U20 leagues.

We got 3 strong D-parings, including 2 good offensive D-men in Marius Kring Andersen and Victor Schmidt Nielsen. It is a solid defense -they will get the job done- but nothing fancy. It is almost identical to the defense from last year’s U20 tournament, but with 1 extra year of experience.

The first and second forward lines are top notch in a Danish context. Oscar Fisker Mølgaard who was a second-round draft pick this summer are of course the star of the team. He is doing great in the SEL and will be relied on heavily in this tournament. Other notable forwards include Hjalte Kruse Thomsen, Albert Schioldan, Daniel Olsson, Anton Linde, and Tristan Lee Juhl Petersen. Also Mads Kongsbak Klyvø who is currently leading the scoring table in the Swedish J18 Regional Syd league, will be interesting to follow. He is from birth year 2007 and could be a potential draft pick in the 2025 NHL draft.

Women hockey in Denmark was, for many years, living in obscurity, but a growing amount of talent and a decision from the Danish hockey association some years ago to give it an increased focus has transformed the Danish women hockey into a somewhat strong contender internationally. The Danish national women team participated last year in the Olympics for the first time ever, and it has also participated in the best group at the World championship. Also, the youth players are getting more resources than before, e.g., the U18 women’s national team are given priority above the men’s U16 and U17 national teams.

We have around 6.000 registered hockey players in Denmark and of those just over 1.000 are female players. There are no youth women leagues in the Danish system, so the girls play together with the boys on mixed teams in the normal youth leagues, and it works just fine. Hardly any physical play is allowed in the younger leagues, so no special consideration is needed for the girls, and I have seen many times in the U13 leagues that the girls are taller/bigger than the boys because they mature earlier.

At times it can be a challenge for a hockey girl if their team has few female players. To help with that, a couple of times a year the Danish hockey association arrange girls’ camps for girls aged 7-13 of all levels. They are a great opportunity for girls to meet other hockey girls for social interaction and to develop their hockey skills.

The Danish U18 woman team will participate in the 2024 IIHF ICE HOCKEY U18 WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Division I, Group A that starts today in Italy. They promoted last year with 5 victories in 5 games after having almost got relegated the year before. What really made the difference in last year’s promotion was the players born 2008. They brought a lot of scoring, and that combined with good goaltending from Caroline Bjergstad (born 2005) was a great success. This year’s team seems even stronger though. The goaltending may not be as strong as last year, but key players on the team are a year older and some strong 2009 born players have been added to the roster. I predict that this team will not be relegated, and probably will end up in the middle of the pack.

Well, I was wrong about the Danish Woman U18 team. They were the weakest team in the tournament and ended up last in the group. They only managed a single point in 5 games, and will have to play in Division 1, Group B next year. The team from Norway will take Denmark's place in Division 1, Group A.
Probably the team is too young with an average age of below 16 years, but with a rather small prospect pool, that is to be expected. It is just to wish them better luck next year.

yep,
both of his parents are, but he recived swedish passport becuse been here since young age.

Speaking of young danes, Molgaard has been great this season in SHL. Him and Barnekow is gonna be nice addition to the danish wc team

I just noticed that Martinus Uggerhøj Schioldan and Lucas Althof Christensen will both be playing in Sweden next year for HV71. Does anyone know how they are ranked within Denmark?

I saw that @Valdemar listed Martinus as a forward in one of his posts, while Elite Prospects has him as a defender. Does anyone know for sure what position he actually plays?
