So he lead last year’s team in points playing 2C/3C and 2nd PP unit? That seems wild to me (pun intended).

As I mentioned in my previous post, I didn't watch much of the first half of last season so I have no idea who played where in those early games. When I started watching fairly regularly Kantserov was playing on the 3rd line and I'm pretty sure Yurov was at 2C. By the time the playoffs started Kantserov was playing on the 1st line and I thought Yurov was still at 2C. I wouldn't bet the farm on my remembrances being 100% accurate - especially as I mentioned earlier too - Rezin changes lines and players around.

Your country is a place where people fall out of windows at an alarming rate. Forgive us for not taking anything off the table.

It's sad when commenting on players gets a response like yours. 2 pages of back and forth could've been avoided if you actually listened.

Magnitka has no stars, though Kantserov is on the brink of being one. They are loosely an offense by committee team.
Again, last year everything fell into place for Yurov offensively. This year? Not so much, although nothing has significantly changed usage wise.

That's it, There's nothing more to it.

Personally, I don’t mind having input from someone that is actually watching the games & has a better understanding of the dynamics of the KHL. I actually think it’s beneficial since no one here is probably watching any of Yurov’s games beyond stat watching or highlights.

I’d prefer we stray away from geopolitical talks about subjects none of us are responsible for.

That's true. Their leading scorer is Robin Press, a 2013 7th round draft pick of the Blackhawks who bounced around for a few years between the Hawks AHL and ECHL teams before heading back home to Sweden to play in Swedish leagues before going to the KHL in 21/22. He isn't a fast skater and most of his points come from assists (28 of 31 points) on long shots put back in off rebounds. They play short shifts disciplined defensive style which usually results in low scoring games, Plus - they are the reigning champs so they are usually getting their opponents best games to beat the champs - there haven't been very many cupcake games this season.

I watched most of them last year, but this year I've watched none. Yesterday I told myself I was going to start trying to watch again, but now the next game isn't until the 25th. Still, I'll try to watch some of the games so I can post my thoughts on how he looks this year, and how it compares to what I remember from last year.

Dude's first two sentences in here were calling Russo an idiot over some made up bullshit that Putin forced Kaprizov to sign in Russia and then called us all crazy for speculating ANY "funny" business regarding a Russian prospect. La la la nothing has ever happened with Russian players la la la. I guess some like to listen to the bullshit. To each their own.

Yeah, he came in hot, overcompensating for Russia (as I see many people doing for their country these days, whichever one it is), but his point in regards to Yurov was right. I don't see any point in engaging with him on the former, but acknowledging the latter is productive, at least in regards to this thread. I don't blame @Spurgeon for preferring to ignore the geopolitical stuff, that crap is rife with emotion and complexity.

Rossi is thriving as our 1C. Similarly, we also added Jiricek, watched Buium play great at the WJC and Ohgren has had a terrific season in Iowa. Not to mention Heidt & Stramel.

Yurov and Wallstedt have, comparatively, had rough seasons. Just more proof that patience is key with prospects, because a year ago these were the two Crown Jewels of our system.

Young players tend to be inconsistent. It look like this conception is new to some of you, though.
We love for outsiders to come into our board and make condescending posts.

Some of it, yes. Some of it is very, very simple and obvious - and i am not referring to hockey.
