I bet they haven't been happy with his development over seas and ant him under their watchful eyes here.

He already has as many goals as Bustalainen.

It's a process......

I think the Coyotes' 2nd round pick shows more promise than this guy. :sarcasm:
Whuttt? Oh yes, from Nobody Important. Got it. Lols.:naughty::laugh:
Many of Coyotes 1st round picks are still trying to crack their lineup, 4th line. Torggy scoring 2 goals in 1 preseason game plus 5 registered hits in offensive zone on the Coyotes would have him on top-line with Clayton Keller, game 1, most of the season.

Really unfortunate that the jets traded So many draft picks over the last few years they could’ve had an amazing stable of players.

One page thread for a #40 pick probably says a lot about his development.

I thought he had the tools to be an effective 4th liner. But he didn't translate anything he showed in preseason to the AHL.

I would guess that's a situation where like Nikkanen he goes home to make more money and the Jets have one less contract.

One for the bust pile I guess.

Next two D off the board were Kleven and Faber... really have to look at how Winnipeg's scouting undervalues D and over-values wingers - its become a huge issue for a 'draft develop' team

Count me in for trading non-first round draft picks... Dillon, Nino, Names, DeMelo - all better value...

I don't know if this is one where Covid affected the scouting. Everybody shut down their season, so you were going off a lot of unfinished results.

Torgersson had some decent U18 results.

The last 3 2nd round picks have been Chibrikov (2021), Salomonsson (2022), and Freij (2024) so I think they've done a bit better since this one. And Lundmark the year before.

Who's the European/Swedish scout for the Jets. Probably falls on their watch.

I wonder if Faber was one of those guys who didn't want to play in Canada, I'm sure Chevy must come across a few interviews like that.

Its surprising how we have had our best results with USNTDP and just ignored it that draft... I mean even if a guy says he won't play here you or hates it - you get his RFA years or you turn him into a Yager...

The Jets did well scouting the USHL. But I think they've pivoted. You have Trouba who tried for years to get out, Nathan Smith walks, Roslovic demands out, Mc Groarty creates an offseason distraction that probably doens't end as well if Chevy isn't patient. Samberg for a time looked dubious, and maybe he never signs if Pionk isn't traded for.

Some good rewards for the risk, but lately the Jets are looking at the CHL more than the USHL. May be easier to keep these guys around.

Jets don't touch the Boston college area players, because it's a hard sell to them. You get these smaller town Midwestern guys, who like hunting and fishing, have been through the winters, Winnipeg is not such a bad place.

Next step is integrating the GTA guys.

Samberg never looked dubious. We drafted Lucius and McGro after this draft.

Dubious to sign I meant. When he went the 3rd year in college it set back the entire plan the organization had with him. Probably a reason why Dillon was acquired, at the cost of two 2nds, because his first season was a car accident that set him back a little further.
