# 3 Worldwide Twitter Trend is "Daniel Bryan" (#4 if you include the Promoted Trend of "#AskAlexa"

**** the WWE, let him out of his contract and allow him to continue wrestling, if that's what he wants to do (and so long as he's medically cleared by multiple doctors)

From Meltzer's show, he thinks he's done.

He had more tests this year, which were the new tests they were on about during the conference last year (not the old ones which are known to be bad and have issues, especially if you're an intelligent guy like Bryan is). He failed them, and he's done.

From what I understand Meltzer was just specualting with that. He doesn't know the results of the tests, he's just guessing as to why he would announce his retirement after fighting to get cleared for so long.

Meltzer claimed Bryan had more tests done just before the rumble and apparently failed them.

If Big Dave is saying it...well, i guess he is done then.

I believe these tests were done separate from the ones that he cleared.

That, or he was lying through his teeth/didn't want to face reality. For a guy as passionate about wrestling as him, i could see it.

We are in concussion central here and I work in the healthcare industry. There aren't like 300 tests you can take. Baseline, neuropsych, and CTs are pretty much commonplay for what his issues have been.

So clarification on what happened would be interesting unless DB was just way out of line with his comments on his own health.

Where's he claiming this? Only thing I've seen is that he's saying that he had more tests done the weekend of the Rumble, but the article didn't say he failed them.

If it's legit, they should announce his induction into the Hall immediately following whatever he has to say.

Yeah i'll admit when he ranted on twitter about clearing multiple doctors, and suddenly fail a test despite being told he was good to go prior is odd.

Unless something else with his health came up suddenly unrelated to the concussions.

Edit: Clarify: Meltzer said the tests made him consider his future, so i just assumed retirement. Dirtsheet writing, here i come!

or he just really wants out of his contract and this is the first step to getting out of it...

Except he doesn't get out of his contract by doing this. The contract would continue to run or be frozen. The only way to do that would be to take them to court.

He's retiring.

I'm holding out hope that this is a work. The tweet screams like a ratings grab.

Agreed. The "tonight on RAW" is the thing that makes me have my doubts.

He could have easily showed up on RAW to announce his retirement without this tweet. It also goes against the earlier reports that he was cleared.

I don't know, maybe there's a chance that he's legitimately officially gone too.

Basically, the standard tests used are bad. This is fact. If you're an intelligent guy to begin with, when your brain heals it can basically avoid the damaged pathways and still be able to function well enough. So you still pass the tests, even with loss of ability

The new test looks more at the actual damage in the brain, and how it's healing. They do one test, look at the damage, then do another test and see how much has healed (or hasn't healed).

Retirement would be a great first step towards getting out of his contract actually especially if he plans to go to courts about it. An independent contractor who has retired from that would be a great way to weasel out of it.
