For what it's worth, Meltzer noted how Bryan didn't show up at the Bella's mother's wedding this weekend. He also made mention that Bryan promised Brie that he would quit if they found more problems and the week prior to the Seattle show, they found a lesion when he went to see the doctor in Pittsburgh. Bryan then spoke with Vince and agreed to do the retirement in Seattle after. Because of the short turn around and Bryan not appearing in the public eye, Meltzer basically thinks Bryan is having a hard time dealing with his retirement and is just staying away from anything wrestling related while he finds a way to cope.

Really bad paraphrasing here by me so go find a way to listen to the Observer from today if you want to hear Meltzer actually bring it up in a more coherent version than what I've done.

That all makes sense and I figured that was the basics.

DB wouldn't go wrestle somewhere else. Doing so would almost definitely put his marriage in serious jeopardy. Brie wouldn't stand by and watch him put his health in that much danger.

He just wants to get away from this.

The only thing that caught my attention yesterday in a strange way is when DB made the reference to going back to an ex-girlfriend to be best friends. That example means that DB doesn't agree with the breakup and doesn't agree that it's over. That kind of caught me a little bit.

That's basically been my feelings on this. Retiring is hard, especially from what you love and this young. Even harder when it's sudden. Things take time, and I hope it's just this.

He basically said

-Vince talked him into retiring early
-Brie talked him into retiring because of being afraid for him
-Bryan doesn't want to be around wrestling like an ex-girlfriend because it just hurts too much right now

All of which i could see and agree with. Not to mention it certainly causing depression on top of his health and losing his father recently.

The best thing for Bryan is to get as far away from wrestling as possible. Being near it not only causes him depression, but could set him down a path to try and wrestle somewhere else because he NEEDS to at the risk of his own health.
