"On May 31, 2011, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League held a conference call to prepare an offer to purchase the team from Mark Just for 3.5 million dollars"
"Its ownership group is led by former QMJHL and NHL all-star goaltender Jocelyn Thibault"
This link shows that Jocelyn Thibeault is a part owner and the other owners are retired QMJHL and NHL players, including Audette.

Throughout the articles I read , it only mentions Thibeault and Audette.

I'd assume. I remember hearing a retired dman's name being mentioned early on but I can't think of his name at the moment. I just remember he was a retired dman.

hey guys, 2-3 things to clear up.
Donald Audette is not part of the management, the hockey players part of the management are : Thibault and Stephane Robidas
The rest of the management are either part of the Thibault family (have a few businesses in the area) or knowned businessmen.
I have no doubt that Audette is a friend of Thibault and maybe Robidas, but he is not an owner.
Secondly, Audette is not from Sherbrooke, not even close. He is from MTL Area which has nothing to do with Sherbrooke.
It's over 1h30 hour away and a complete different area. Sherbrooke is very near from Drummondville but a Drummondville player wouldn't be a hometown player.
Sherbrooke is metro enough to have it's own 'hometown players' and they are from Sherbrooke and maybe Magog.
Basically there is no difference if Audette would of came from Quebec, Montreal or even Rimouski, he wouldn't be a hometown product. No associate there at all.

Audette has a stake, no offence but I believe my sources.

For all those were down on Audette, he has 6 points in his last four games and now has 13 points in 26 games for a season. Not bad on an expansion team.
His 0.50 ppg his first amongst 16 years old players from Québec/Maritimes (anybody but Barbashev and Garland), tied with Val-d'Or's Nicolas Aubé-Kubel.
He still has a lot to improve but he seems to be quietly turning his season around playing on an expansion team. Moreover, 16 year old rookies to play much better in the second half of their rookie seasons. It will be interesting to see which players step it up. The 2014 draft eligible players in the QMJHL sure are not as impressive a group as the 2013 one but it is too early to label it a disaster like the 2010 or 2012 draft years. Still lots of hockey to be played!

His biggest knock isn't his production, it's going to be his size. He's listed as 5'8" and looks smaller on the ice.
Most project him as a good QMJHL player but the NHL potential is limited unless he stretches 3 inches and packs on 30 pounds

There's always hope but I would be surprised if he grew anymore than another inch. It's something we see all the time in the QMJHL. One example, Kyle Farrell could have been a hell of a player had he had a 5'11" frame. If you're going to make it at that little man size you need a world class skill set.
If you compare Garland to Audette, it's not even close. Garland seemed a bit hesitant a few times in the game I watched but the kid was all over the ice and despite his dwarf-like build he was able to hold his own and create space with his skill and speed. I think he ended up with 3 points and all I kept thinking was "Wow this kid is small"
Going into the game I didn't know what to expect. I knew he was over a PPG average but that only tells you so much. Definitely worth another look soon, glad he ditched the NCAA route.
I think it is too early to write him off as a NHL prospect. I believe his skillset is much, much better than many short players in the QMJHL. What if he is a top-20 scorer in the league next season at 17 years old and at 5'9" 180? That could still be second round pick material.
It's not impossible to have a growth spurt at 16.. It's also not unlikely that he grows...
I'd say the odds are he grows an inch... Maybe more.

Did I miss something? I said his NHL potential was limited unless he grows in the post you quoted and you're post says he could still have NHL potential if he grows.
You said what I said in a different order.As for the top 20 scorer thing, that doesn't always translate to NHL potential or recognition. Another good example is Nicolas Petan. He's considered a 3rd or 4th round pick right now and he's a '95 born in the WHL with 60 points in 35GP (24G 36A) with a +38 because he's only 5'9" 170lbs At that size, it's tough to make it and there are plenty of small guys who haven't despite being very productive in the CHL.
All you can do is hope he grows or develops a skill set and strength that makes his size irrelevant and Audette isn't even close to that caliber right now.
Tough to compare Audette to the other 16yo's in the league....do you really think they are getting the same icetime as Audette? I highly doubt it.

I was merely bringing up a hypothetical. Obviously he still has miles to go to become a top NHL prospect. My hypothetical only had him growing up by one inch btw and I don't believe that one inch between 5'8" and 5'9" is what is gonna make him a much better prospect or not. Thus, I don't think we were saying the same thing...
Perhaps not but almost every 16 year old plays with a much better support cast and did not have to start the year on a team where nobody knew anyone, no cohesion, no top player, etc.

Okay, I re-read it and we still said pretty much the exact same thing with you saying 1 inch and me saying 3. That's 1 part of my post, probably the least relevant part to my post lol
