Value of: Dan Vladar to Edmonton?

I've always felt Vladar has talent. He's big, he's quick, he's a good teammate and not too weird for a goalie.

That said, eventually you just have to stop the puck more. He's been lights out his last 3 starts and it wouldn't shock me if he becomes a really good goalie one day. I just think the Oilers have a big need for a goalie who stops the puck regularly and right now, not one who might one day in the future.

I also think they need a stopper on the 2nd pair. Like Ekholm is on the first pair. They need a Weegar not a Vladar.

They need an upgrade in goal AND a guy like Weegar.

Flames wouldn't trade Vladar under any circumstance.

I think they will re-sign him and he will remain a Flames for a few more years.
I really don't think he'll be re-signed. I think Conroy will look for more of a mentor type backup for next year. I think his first calls to goaltenders on July 1 will be Quick, Allen and Andersen, in that order.
