"Why does Sather always wait til the last minute to keep our coaches"
I've always been a supporter of analyzing a sport from a bird's eye view perspective, analyzing the natural ebb an flow of the game as a whole... I hope the Rangers plan on having someone fill his role.
Do The rangers get a compensation pick for that?
Hearing rumours former #Canucks video coach Darryl Williams will be joining the coaching staff with the #Rangers.
Williams first talked to Vigneault about the position at the NHL draft in Ottawa in June.
"He was a tough guy, a real team guy and that's what what we were looking for," said Vigneault, who says he talked to "five or six applicants about the position.
"I like the fact he's got some playing experience in the minors, a guy who's paid his dues as a player trying to make it," said Vigneault. "And he's definitely paid his dues as a coach.
I like that he's been around and gone the extra mile to try and reach his dream. I also got some really good references from guys like ([Manitoba Moose head coach) Scott Arniel and (Detroit Red Wings head coach) Mike Babcock."
Cooper replaces assistant coach Darryl Williams, who handled video duties for the team the past six seasons. Linden said Williams left the team to accept another position and stressed he was not fired.
“No, not at all,†Linden said. “Obviously, Darryl was a very solid guy and very well liked in the organization and did great work. It wasn’t our intention to have him leave.â€
