Benn / Seguin / Radulov

Maroon / McDavid / Nuge

Under the assumption these are the top lines all year;

a/ which line amasse more points? (player a points + b + c)

b/ you start a franchise today, which three players are you taking?

c/ which line will be more effective overall?

d/ will benn and seguin be highest scoring duo?

e/ will benn and seguin outscore draisatl and mcdavid's 2016-2017 campaign?

Stars look like they have the better line, if this is what they run.

What are the projections of the lineups in Dallas right now??

a/oilers @ 200ish mcdavid-115 maroon-45 nuge-40 dallas @ 200 seguin-80 benn-70 radulov-50

b/ benn over maroon, radulov questionable with nuge, mcdavid over seguin. close

c/ seguin and benn will probably take harder match ups, so them

d/ yes, at 150 points

e/ no, at 150 points

However, I don't think the Oilers' first line will have Strome on it. Not sure about Dallas.

My apologies, I had the wrong centre playing wing.

I meant to put Nugent-Hopkins.

Why would the Nuge be the RW? Has he ever played that position before? It'll probably be either Strome or Puljujarvi, if not Draisaitl

Can't really see a centerman whose never played wing get put on his off-side playing the toughest d-men in the West

I don't know how much stock to put in Bob Stauffer, but that's his projections.

(from what I heard so far, he's pretty credible)

and left hand on right side, isn't that ideal for burying backdoor and cross ice passes?

Both beneficiary especially when applied with the McDavid effect.

That and Nuge had a bad offensive season last year his worst over 55 games, and had 43 points,him scraping 40 points next year next to Mcdavid seems highly unlikely, with a decent bounce back season he could be good for 50+ without Mcdavid

I read that as a projection from one of the Oilers announcer,

again as previously stated not 100% on credibility of tweet or Bob Stauffer.

But I would assume raising his stock or even get him going offensively would be a good reason.

Obviously I've never played at the NHL level, but isn't the transition from Centre to Wing,

pretty seamless most if not all times?

Not sure where that started, people wanting Nuge to play wing, he's a center, and can be a good one. I don't think we've seen the last of him in the middle.

The reasoning behind it that has been said is bugs is great at pick retrieval and getting the puck backin in his zone. This would allow nuge to be the guy down low and mcdavid to cheat for the break Pit pass.

well its pretty much McJesus against the Stars Trio. I always pick McJeses so yea, ez choice :))))

Maroon = 40 points, McJesus = 120 points, RNH = 55 points; Overall = 215 points

Radulov = 60 points, Seguin = 75 points, Benn 75 points; overall = 210

First off, if you're comparing "1st lines" you should be counting even strength points only. PP is a unit, not a line. Maroon and RNH will not be playing on the 1st unit PP.

Seeing as how Seguin and Benn take a significant drop in point ranking from total points to even strength points, there is NO CONTEST on what line is better... the McDavid line is by far the superior line.

These 2 teams had quite a rivalry back in the day, will be fun to see it rekindled over the next few yrs. as the Oilers get better and the Stars keep Benn and Seguin around.
