Seems like it could work. LA needs a starter, and Dallas has two on short-term contracts. What does each fan base think?
I've always been a big fan of Kari Lehtonen, pretty sure he makes wayy to much though.
While I doubt a trade happens, Dallas could retain 50%on either making Niemi a 2.25 contact and Lehtonen a 2.95.
Not sure how tight you cap is but Niemi at 2.25 for a temporary fix / back up after isn't super expensive. Only problem is he isn't all that good

Highly doubt the Stars do it. I think they are going to wait until Murray is good to go for the Pens and then trade Niemi+ to the Pens for Fleury.
Why in the world would Pitt take Niemi in any deal for Fleury. I don't see that happening.
To have a back up/Make salary work?
Nobody wants a back up making that kind of $$$. Highly doubt Pitt would touch him. That's the problem with fixing the Stars goaltending is nobody will take the guys you have at their high salaries.
Niemi at 50% isn't 2.25. That's not an insane amount to fit

As said to make salary work, to expose a goalie in the expansion draft, and because it is the only realistic place imo Fleury can be moved to and they have to move him at some point. Makes perfect sense.
It will come down to Who gets shipped to Dallas first. MAF or Bishop. Either way dallas will have to retain half the salary of which ever goalie is going back the other way

Dallas acquires Brown and then Pittsburgh agrees to do Fleury for Brown straight up?Dustin Brown to Pittsburgh
Marc-Andre Fleury to Dallas (when Murray returns)
Kari Lehtonen to LA
And everyone can enjoy each other's terrible contract.

Share whatever it is you're smoking with the rest of us please.
It was a joke based on the contracts of all three players being within range of one another and every fan of those respective team's wanting out of their contracts.
I guess that one went over your head, or you're too slow to notice it.
