I wouldn't trade a player who has scored 17pts in the playoffs for a player who hasn't done anything in the league.

At 1st I didn’t want this deal but at this point I’d roll the dice and see what Guri looks like in our top 6.

I’m also praying for a Gavrikov and or Zub trade. Could help to have a few countrymen in the room when it comes to extensions. Who knows?

I’m done with Puljujarvi and Dallas has a ton of Finnish players so maybe it’s a good situation for him also.

How would McDavid handle being the 2nd fastest player on his own team? :sarcasm:

But yeah I would do it as a Stars fan. Because what the hell? A change of scenery can't hurt and if it doesn't work out then just walk away. I believe the reward outweighs the risk for both teams.

Oilers take it without much thought, if this is their only option. At least if everything is equal contract wise. Especially term.

Think they’d rather move Puljujarvi for a pick though, if they could. Garionov could fit but he’s not really addressing needs for the Oilers.

Moving Puljujarvi for a pick allows them to use that cap space more effectively.

I don’t see this as a good move for Dallas. The goal should be getting an upgrade for gurianov not a lateral or lesser player. Puljujarvi plays with two of the best players in the world and yet still can’t score. If McDavid can’t elevate his game no one can. Look at the effect McDavid has had on Hyman. He played with marner and Matthew’s and yet his production has gone up with McDavid.

Gurianov on the other hand is a mystery box. Had a really good year and a really good playoff run in 2020. Has fallen apart since. I think his problem is confidence but you can see the skill is there. I don’t see that for Puljujarvi.

I think it really is confidence. Thats what I have got out of his interviews. He also is bad at the language and could thrive with familiar players, that talk the same language. I believe he would also be better in Dallas, where the local focus isnt on hockey. He is quite shy and that could also be a reason he wants to play in USA. Atleast its rumoured he would like.

I'm not sure they do. Moving Puljujarvi for a pick means Kenny has to go out and use that pick to replace the forward we lost and Kenny doesn't like extra work. He's also said if a move happens it'll be money in money out. Wouldn't be surprised to see a hockey trade like this.
